Keep 4 (REP)

Hello, sorry to make another post, my league finally decided on a new Keeper amount. Just wanted some opinions. Its Keep any 4, however we can only keep 1 goalie maximum (if we choose to keep a goalie at all).

Here are the players I have narrowed it down to...

2. Perry
3. Vorachek
4. Holtby
5. MacKinnon
6. Johnson
7. Pacioretty

I may just keep 1-4 but any other thoughts would be great.

I would keep Mack over Holtby.. Just my .02

I think you're list 1-4 is fine, I think you need to keep Holtby with 12 teams and 2 starters each. Unless you believe most GMs will go with 4 skaters. And even if they do, they will be forced to grab a goalie in the 1st round, so you will still be able to add a decent forward in round 1.

I think the first 3 are really easy and you have them right. Karlsson, Perry and Voracek are a sure thing.

I might be the only one, but my 4th keeper would be Josi. He is a shot blocking machine, with some hits, a lot of shots and a ton of points.

I would think about keeping Patches and trying to either flip Perry (if you are able to trade for draft picks) or drop Holtby.

Patches will be able to contribute to just as many cats as Perry, but Perry is 30 and Patches is 26. His name alone holds a lot of value and I would rather trade him a year too early, than too late. Otherwise drop Holtby. Although at keep 1 goalie, Holtby would be in my top 12 goalies easily. Just depends what you think you can get in the draft.

MacK is indeed the odd man out, though I would try to redraft him.

if you draft high in the 1st rd. you may be able to redraft Holtby but with 2 goalie slots I would hang onto him!

Yeah, most likely I will keep Holtby. We are waiting for yahoo to open up so we can get some pre draft trades going. I could consider trying to move Perry for a Pick maybe.

A maximum of 11 goalies will be kept (perhaps even less) if you decide to not keep one yourself. That leaves at least 19 NHL starters available to you in the 1st round.

I'd keep Perry, Karlsson, Voracek and MacKinnon and get your #1 early in the draft.

I like this idea, its just Holtby is already ranking top 10 on so many lists so it seems like it might be a better option to just keep him and see which forward(s) I can draft with my first pick. Still not sure on draft order (waiting for yahoo to open).

Really tough to lose MacK and his potential but I agree, keep the top four you've listed yourself!
