Hey Guys

Who would you say are the top 5 defenseman in the league

16 teams Stats are G, a, points, ppp, hits, blks, pims, sog

I know karllson #1

after that i am not too sure

is it something like

1. karllson
2. Subban
3. weber
4. OEL
5. Hedman ??

Does subban drop due to the 9 mill in cap hit he has.

How many teams are in your league? In my 10-team dynasty AAV league, neither Subban nor Weber were touched last season. We don't count hits or blocked shots, however, so Weber is much better in your format than in mine.

Someone like Shattenkirk has a low cap hit for the next two seasons, or you could take a stab at Klingberg (8 x $4.25 million) and hope that he's the real deal. Both of those guys are offensive and not overly physical, however.

Byfuglien is extremely valuable, but only has one more season before he hits UFA. Roman Josi still has a boat load of years left at $4 million. I would imagine that Brent Burns would score pretty highly, too.

I would have to assume that Byfuglien would be an absolute stud here, but also be prepared for him to cash in next summer. I have him in my dynasty league and hope to be able to afford him next year, but you never know. I won our regular season last year by a wide margin, so I'm going for the win this year and not worrying about his cap hit next year.

Another strategy could be to take the best value offensive guy available, compliment him with a cheaper, physical type defenceman, and then use your savings to load up on forwards.

Defenseman MUST block shots. They are the only players that can. Look at drafting D that in addition to moving other cats also drive blocks. Carlson is a good example. So is Josi.
