i figure we should finalize all important rules before we start drafting since it will likely affect the draft immensely...

just off the top of my head...

JR players eligible to be called up/down
IR (red flag, IR flag, suspended?)
over seas players allowed to be demoted?
max transactions per week (FA signings, waiver claims etc)
max moves per week (call ups from JRs...does IR replacement count as a call up?)
green flag players allowed on active roster (i.e players in minors. what if we use our max moves per week and then a player on our roster gets green flagged?)

apologies if most of these have been answered already....can you guys think of anything else important we should nail down before the draft?

Most of these probably haven't been answered.

The plan is for each team to have 2 moves per week.
You can either use these to
    i) Drop a PRO player, ADD a pro player
ii) Drop a JR player, ADD a JR player, or
iii) Drop a PRO player, promote a JR player, ADD a JR player

In September (post-Labour Day), we'll have more time for rule formation some more to attend to items that do not affect draft value.
If one of these items is critical to your draft strategy, pick one - explain it clearly - and let's discuss over next few days.

I kind of figure I'll just make the pick when I get there.

The rewards though, I think, will be for those of us that figure out how to slot young prospects among with league veterans.
How do I make a list so that I don't lose track of Sam Bennett or Max Domi?
How do I slot those guys where they should be in a new draft???
I've gotta wrap my head around this...
I am also having a bit of motivation problems, THAT's why I have decided to hire someone to do it for me!

He said he'd pay by end of day.
I'll take his word for it.
The rest of you can mention/discuss your pick slots if you like.

I have the 5th spot. I've never drafted that high before in an inaugural draft. I'm very excited to see who I get. I have a top 5 list and I'm thrilled to know I will be getting at least one of those players.

I want to speculate. I'm picking 12th but interested in top 5.

In no particular order: Crosby, McDavid, Ovechkin, Tavares, Price, Malkin?

Who's on the outside looking in? Did I miss someone?

I'm also very happy picking 12th in an inaugural 24 team league. Easiest to fill needs and realistically plan ahead

I think the top four are set in stone...Crosby, McDavid, Ovechkin, and Tavares. The 5th spot is interesting. Malkin, Price, Stamkos, Seguin, Tarasenko, Giroux are all in contention. Because this is also a salary league, someone might really want to grab a young cheap player like Eichel. I know who I am targeting, but would prefer not to say right now. I might actually value my player slightly more than one or two of the players in the top four.

My top five are Semin, Yashin, DiPietro, Mike Richards, Chris Chelios.
I'm a big Mike Richards fan so I'm crossing my fingers that he slips to me at #6.
I'll understand if you guys draft everybody on my list... I guess I shouldn't have put it out there for everybody to see.
