Another vote for Darling, but I don't really see either as a threat to derail the career of the incumbents (injuries aside)

Darling for me. He rarely looked shaky when he played. I don't think he will be handed the crease anytime soon though.

Hammond on the other hand went on a tear and then struggled in the playoffs.

Brian Boucher, Patrick Lalime, Pascal Leclaire as well as many others went on these great stretches but were never able to repeat the numbers again. I think Hammond is one of these (don't get me wrong, he could have a career in the NHL as a backup or even get some platoon opportunities, but if you are expecting last years numbers, I would look elsewhere)

If it weren't for the fact that Crawford has 2 rings and has stepped up at critical moments, I'm sure CHI would have tried to offload his heavy contract. Darling is the better goalie but Hammond has the better situation.

patrick lalime should be not in the same conversation as pascal leclaire. He was a good goalie for a very long stretch. Not just one little stretch. Hammond isn't even close to him and never will be.

The first name that came to my mind was Michael Leighton for Philly a few years ago. Hammond's situation reminds me of him.

Between the two, I would definitely choose Darling. I feel like Darling is more of the home run swing (Bishop 2.0?) and I'd rather have a potential big bodied starter, who could also be a potential bust, than a guy who will very likely be a long term back up.

Darling is on such a great team for spot starts.

I would go Darling here, I just don't see Crawford staying at the #1 in Chitown with their salary issues moving forward and his propensity for allowing a weak goal at a bad time.

And his two Cup rings? The chances of Crawford being moved are 1%.

I go Hammond due to the common and likely visits Anderson will make to the hospital.
