I like the guy, he gets lit up around here for lack of size, but he was asked to play a role he's not made for and played admirably, IMO. When he was knocked of a puck by the Rangers 6' 5'' Hayes, leading to a goal (game winner I believe), he and Garth Snow were public enemy #1 by the tools on some of the Islander forums. I think the guy plays much bigger than his size and he moves well.....hope they get this done.

he's been a good find for the isles , definately worth 2.0/2.5 .I just hope his d-partner is over 6'1 this year

not sure I understand this move. Letting Reinhart/Mayfield and whomever come in and compete for the job would seem to be the right move. Then again I only caught about half a dozen islander games last season, but Hickey strikes me as a guy who should not be getting tons of minutes. So as a bottom pairing kind of guy (19 minutes a game) wouldn`t the Islanders be better suited to keeping the pipeline churning forward ?

Signing Hickey and moving Reinhart makes no sense to me, but hey what the heck do I know ?

Boychuk, Leddy, Hamonic, DeHaan is a nice top 4.
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

I'm sure the return they got for Reinhart had a lot to do with it. If Hickey was ever traded for two draft picks it would be a 4th and a 7th.

Snow as much said he wouldn't have traded Reinhart if Barzal wasn't there. Tough piece to give up, but they traded from a nice pool of prospect d-men.
