Default your thoughts on ROR in Buffalo

I posted earlier asking on who should I drop (7 players to drop). Almost everybody had O'Reilly as a must drop. I was wondering if your opinion changed knowing that he'll be in Buffalo.

Prioi to the draft, my drops are (considering advices):
note that at first, I thought about keeping Skinner and O'Reilly and dropping Kronwall and Burns

    - O'Reilly (6M$ is expansive for a two-way)
    - Skinner (lost faith... expansive and risky... my risky pick is Yakupov)
    the rest are no brainers
    - Pearson
    - Shultz
    - Muzzin
    - Bernier
    - Niemi

So... is your opinion regarding ROR has change?

    Thx !

If the report is true that ROR is asking for $8M AAV on his next contract, I would stay away from him in salary leagues. In fantasy hockey, he's not even worth the $6M he's making now.

Agree with Jouko. While he may well see a bump in production (at least vs last season), the fact that he'll likely break the bank on his extension doesn't make him an attractive piece for me to own in a keeper salary league. I'd still pass.

I think ROR is a definite "drop" in a salary league, especially if he gets his 8 million per year. I also figure he may not reach his now expected 60 points in Buffalo for a couple years as the youngsters there begin to learn the ropes. Still a drop in my mind.

It's so hard to say that a player is or isnt worth 'x' - there are so many bad contracts out there, so where is the bar set at?

But, clearly ROR isn\t worth $8m. $6? Sure. $8? Heck no.

Considering what they gave up for him, do you really expect the Sabres to play hardball with ROR?

Oreilly was only asking for that much to get out of Colorado. He'll sign for around 6.5 mill.

What he asks for and what he gets could quite possibly be two different things.

That being said, if anyone honestly believes that he is only expecting to sign for a 500K raise from his current deal, I have some ocean front property in Arizona I can sell you.

lol...now "reports" are at $8? What happened to $7? Ev's closer at $6-6.5, but I would also agree if you're in a cap league he's a drop.

EDIT I think it's money + term that O'Reilly wants. It could very well be $7 on the fron years w/less on the back end

Even in Buffalo, he's a tough own in a cap league.

    I would stay away.

Not sure how you can justify having O'Rielly in a salary cap league?? I wouldn't want him eating up so much cap space on my roster!!
