Default [rumour] Coyotes considering buying out Gagner

Considering how low their teams cap situation already is, I am not sure how this makes any sense, but who knows.

Coyotes ownership has money to spend now? I understood when they would spend the NHLs money on free agents and all (fml), but with all their drama, it's kind of shocking they feel this is the right course of action.

If they buy out Gagner that leaves them with only 10 NHL'ers signed heading into FA, not including Domi or Duclair obviously. Seems redundant to part ways with Gagner, especially given he only has 1 year left at just over 3M. What's the point?

Maybe Shane Doan is pissed that Gagner will make more actual money ($5m) than Doan ($4.55m) this year.

The guy was -28 last season. If you're tanking for Auston Matthews, pretty sure it's better to keep Gagner around.

With Gagner having been in EDM & ARI... makes me wonder.
What is the career worst +/- for an NHL player?

pretty sure bozak was -34 on an awful leafs team that gave up the last half of the season.

but ovy must have been just as bad a couple years ago and i think his team was actually good.

According to Wiki, Rob Stewart (no relation to Rod Stewart), was a career -260.

Single season, Bill Mikkelson was -82 in 74-75

Gagner is only 25 and already at -105. I bet he could get to -260 if he plays his cards right (read: wrong).

Curious who the worst active player is today...

Just did a quick google search... looks like Robert Stewart with a -260 career? He did play with the Seals / Barons of the NHL in the 70s.
