I think he's a very solid 2nd line center on most teams.

Miscast as a first line centre.

Relentlessly devalued by the Toronto media.

Someone is going to get a second line centre for a ludicrous discount.

Done from the Habs. It wouldn't solve the problem of not having a true #1C but that's damn good value for Bozak IMO.

I agree Rainy. Move the contract. Make cap space.

Agreed. He's a decent player, even has a defensive conscience and the cap hit isn't an overpay. Should be fun watching him play and hopefully do well this season. It would be awesome if he were to end up in the East and had the opportunity to play in Toronto often.

fishbowl pressure cutting bait on a fairly effective player

motivated selling is not an efficient way to run a business

then again addition by subtraction and synergy is complex math
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

Low price to pay for a good potential 2nd line center, but the cap space and roster spot are probably just as valuable as the pick to the Leafs. Still seems like they are not maximizing a return though, how often does a 2nd round pick even become a 4th liner in the NHL, let alone a potential top 6 player, and Bozak's cap hit isn't a drain.

Except it would have to be next year's 2nd. This year's 2nd belongs to Edmonton.

Yes, 2016. I'll trade the 2nd every year for assets like Petry or Bozak with no hesitation.
