So I'm in the Matt Cooke thread.
And I'm reading a post by chuckcouples about Paul Martin & Devan Dubnyk and the MIN cap situation...
And I'm thinking... hmmm... I better go edumacate myself on the MIN cap structure.

So I head over to nhlnumbers (yes, I haven't made the transition to the new site).

On the right side of the page I get four advertisements.
And I'm looking at them and thinking...

Good lord...
I hope this isn't a reflection of my internet browsing history at work...
Is this really targeted at me?
Or is everybody getting these ads?


At 38 years old... I think I just booted myself into a mid-life crisis.

adblock is your best friend.

you can even disable it on certain sites if you prefer to let them use ads.

It’s funny, I haven’t looked at real estate recently, and I don’t like SOaD. So this is an odd ad system.

Perhaps the Twain ad is just for Canada/Ontario.

TWO "seniors" ads, and two suggesting I'm looking for scantilly clad women made me feel much shame.

I don't know how many of these work, but I think they are often based on IP location.
People DO support "Ron Paul" a lot down here... but I'm far from being a "senior"... and far from ever referencing anything "senior"-ish... unless my huge amount of clicks to HomeDepot suggest I'm old.

LOL. Second time I went was pretty accurate.
Bestbuy ad – A/C units and fans. Literally a week ago I looked that up.
Chevy Truck sale – looked up trucks and leasing info last month
Eastgate Ford Ad – I work by this dealer funny enough
Thaimatches.com – lol, I haven’t looked up anything that would suggest I need this. “Chat free with new Thai Ladies”.

Maybe it’s 3 normal ads and one sexual one. My sexual one was the last one like yours.

Nice thread you started Pengwin. No need to feel shame as the ads that showed up on my Minn page were Old Navy (which I avoid and have never looked at their website) and 3 ads for American Express, which is another company I have never looked at.

Usually my ads are Asian dating services and financial investment related services, which make a little more sense.
