I've heard it being rumored, and IMO it makes sense as they want to retain Hamilton.
Just wondering if any one else has heard any rumors about Lucic being dealt by the B's?? I have heard a few rumblings coming out of some of my sources..

If the Oilers could get a package together to get Hamilton and Lucic, I think they would be not far from competitive with another D and G which I am sure they will land.
Lucic to protect Mcdavid, guys would have to pay.

I know the B's are in a cap crunch and I don't believe there's any chance they let Hamilton go... but I really struggle to think they'd deal Looch. He's just such a unique player that embodies (when he's on) everything the B's want to be.
I'd have to think they'll do all they can to trim the fat elsewhere (Kelly, Campbell, Eriksson, R.Smith) and plug and play the youngsters (Pastrnak, Spooner, Koko) before moving a core piece like Lucic (or Marchand for that matter).
I'd even suggest there's a better chance they deal Krejci (who they seem to love) than Lucic.
I've heard some of the rumblings too and I've got zero personal sources to back my opinion - but still, I just can't imagine it actually happening.

Can't see too many teams taking him on. He's heading fast into irrelevance. There was a time when he could put up points and agitate like an Avery, but that's come and gone.

I hope you're kidding. Lucic is more than an agitator, he's a fighter. Marchand is an agitator. This season, Lucic only had 18 goals and 44 points, to go along with 81 penalty minutes and 259 hits. Boston in general had a down season, plus with Krejci out for a good chunk of the year, which likely contributed to a sub-par season. Lucic just turned 27 and with a healthy Krejci, is a good bet to return to 25 goals and 60 points this season...in Boston.

He's not a fighter, he's a cheap shot artist who loves nothing more than the sucker punch. He doesn't square up to fight and hasn't in quite some time. He jumps guys from behind and gets his punches in before they realize what's happening.
Lucic is definitely declining. Body is breaking down and he never was much for NHL caliber speed.
Lucic is a power forward who can drop the mitts with anyone in the league and score 25-30 goals. He's an extremely valuable player and 29 other teams would love to have him.

His 6 mil cap hit along with his UFA status in a year makes him a tough pill to swallow for any team now since the league cap is so tight. If he's traded, I can't see more than a mid 2nd rd pick for him from one of the few teams that can eat the cap hit.
Soft teams/small teams like EDM, MTL, BUF could use a guy like him but again it will come down to how much cap can the other team afford when he hits UFA.

Lucic won’t fight anymore. Maybe he still can, but he won’t drop gloves like he did in 2007-08 season. He had 3 last yr, and 15 total in the last 3 yrs. Someone who averages 5 fights a yr is not a fighter. Dion Phaneuf had 6 last yr, is he a fighter?
There are few teams where Lucic would fit in like he does in Boston. A team with young guys like Edmonton may like someone to stand up for the kids, but to pay a guy 6mill to sit on a line with 2 fast kids is pointless if Lucic can’t keep up. He’s Boston or bust I think.
To say Lucic is a fighter is an insult to guys like Prust, McLoed, Dorrsett, Martin, Sill, and Maroon that are actual fighters.

Surprised to see so many on this thread so far off on what Lucic is, at this point. There aren't many players a team would rather have in the playoffs than Lucic. He is not even close to a "cheap shot artist". If you think that, you don't watch him play. I'm sure he's had his fair share of cheap shots because he's such an emotional, physical player. But, he'll go head on with anyone and "cheap shot artists" generally have no balls.
His problem is that he doesn't always bring his "A" game, and when they were switching their lines every other game, he let his game go south for long stretches. And, obviously, he has some skill limitations.
But, I doubt there's many teams that wouldn't love to have him. Especially when the games get big, that's when you want Looch on your side. He's a little bit of an enigma from a mental standpoint, but he's not all done at 27. And, still garners a lot of interest around the league.
Maybe there's just a lot of people that can't stand him and let there personal bias affect their analysis of what he actually is. Only explanation I can come up with for some of the takes I'm seeing in this thread.
