He has been awesome in the finals. Four points, a 60.68 CF%, 65.45 SCF%, 19 hits, 12 shots, +25 in on-ice shot differential.

Not sure what else could be asked of a guy with an "A" who regularly plays third line minutes with limited power-play time on the second unit.
6mil for this yrs Brian Bickell I think is the issue. At 6mill he should be more than a 3rd liner. RC has played very well, but his price tag is high for the role he is being used in.

He's been lucky. His 4 pts in the 4 games vs Chicago is great. Take away his 4 pts from game two & three, and he's got 4 playoff pts in 19 playoff games. Yes he shoots a lot and hits a lot, but not exactly effective. I think he got lucky during the regular season this year cause he comes across as a normal 40 pt player with a big salary. I just expected more from him.

I don't disagree that he is overpaid, but that isn't his fault. And really, it is all somewhat subjective anyway. Who fills his role if he isn't there?

He is doing exactly what he has done his entire career, which is pretty valuable.

he isn't as good as he was at his peak, though. At his peak he was Dustin Brown like

    Six of one ...

Brown has 44 goals over the past three years and Callahan has 57, for what it is worth.

They're extremely similar players in my books, and they've played with very similar talents on excellent teams. Both are 30, too.

I just traded Drouin + Gardiner + Wallmark for Kesler + Silfverberg + Rantanen in my multi-cat (standard multicat + Hits/Blks/FW) dynasty. He was a guy that I thought I would never move, but the price was just too good to pass up. I still think he gets to those 80+ seasons playing alongside Stamkos - the two should become a lethal duo in the next couple years - but it's a bit disheartening to see other young guys playing important minutes these playoffs (Sam Bennett, Gaudreau, Teravainen, to name a few) while JD is either (1) in the press-box or (2) riding pine.

Although Jonathan Drouin played in only six playoff games this post-season, the Lightning coaching staff is still very high on the talented forward.
Bolts' GM Steve Yzerman is looking for bigger and better things from the young playmaker this upcoming season. "[Drouin] is absolutely a big part of the future. He's a tremendously talented young player, a great young man, all throughout the year he's handled this situation extremely well." If there are any owners in your hockey pool who have soured on Drouin, make the call and get him on the cheap as he could have a breakout season in 2015-16.

If the price is right, definitely acquire this guy. He will for sure be getting some extended looks next to Stamkos next season, and I'm guessing it works wonders - for both players. Additionally, I think Killorn would be an incredibly effective player on the third line with Filppula.

    Drouin-Stamkos-Callahan /// Palat-Johnson-Kucherov /// Killorn-Filppula-Paquette ??? I could see that being a devastating top9.
