Starting a 20 team salary cap dynasty league, teams currently sit at 12/20. Looking to fill the last eight slots. Top 8 teams each season make the playoffs (four divison winners and the four highest point teams after). League dues are 30 dollars per team with all playoff teams either getting their money back or making a profit. Scoring will be head to head categories (goals, assists, points, pims, ppp, shp, hits, blocks, wins, saves, sv%, GAA, and shutouts).
Rules:
Each team MUST Be Named After A Current NHL Franchise (No Golden Seals or Thrashers).
This will be a Salary Cap Dynasty League. This means that players on your pro and prospect rosters will be kept year to year. This also means that you must adhere to the salary cap limit placed upon each team in the league. We will be using the NHL's salary cap and player salaries. Note: NHL salary cap goes up or down year to year. Player salaries also change due to new contracts that may come into effect any given year.
The Salary Cap is determined yearly by what the NHL does (for example the 2014 cap would have been 69 million). Your team must be cap compliant (below or at the limit) before each regular season begins (make trades or drop players to become compliant).
Players on IR will have HALF of their salary count against the cap. There will be no retaining of player salaries when traded.
Pro Roster Breakdown:
Each pro roster will consist of 23 player spots along with 3 injured reserve (IR) spots. Prospect rosters have no positional limitations. Pro rosters will consist of this makeup:
Centers - 4
Winger - 8
Defense - 6
Goalie - 1
Bench - 4
Prospect guidelines:
Players on your prospect rosters do NOT count against the cap, but once called up they begin to count against your cap.
Prospect rosters will have 15 spots in year one available to each team. Prospects are skaters with 40 or less games experience or goalies with 25 or less games experience. Once a prospect has exceeded the games player number they may not be able to be sent back down to your prospect roster once called up to the pro roster.
There are no forced call ups. Prospects may remain on the prospect roster if they are over the 40 or 25 game numbers. Also trading prospect on the prospect roster with over the game experience does not force them to be called up either.
Any undrafted player (skater or goaltender) can be signed to your prospect roster at a later date (once it is passed their draft year). This includes NCAA players.
