    Default MAF or Eichel?

So in our entry draft free agents and newly drafted players are all mixed in, and I own the 2nd overall. I assume 1st is taking McDavid, that leaves me with Eichel, but I could also take MA Fleuy?

In a word yes. It is a tough decision to be sure, especially looking at your goalie situation, but I don't think I could bring myself to let Eichel go in a Salary Cap League. He is going to be so much value for the first 3 yrs of his ELC. MAF is good, but Eichel is going to be special. With your league settings though only counting W and SO it makes the decision even tougher. I'm almost talking myself out of it, but I still think Eichel is the right decision

A quick question; how many teams in the league? Right now, it looks like you have a lot of young talent, but I don't think you would push for the championship in the next year or two. If that is the case, I think Eichel fits into your plans better than MAF does.

Darling could be the starter next yr (GASP). Then you have a solid goaltender situation. Don’t over think this, take Eichel

15 teams. So goalies are in short supply.

What are your settings? Is there a specific amount of guys in the lineup? Position requirements?
Without knowing these, I think you take MAF,
    1) You're pretty decent in C, no?
    2) MAF last year would have netted 186 points last year (34 Wx4 + 10x5 for so). I think his SO will drop some, but I think he can get more wins also, so pretty much a wash. By contrast, Sid would've only gotten you 143 points. Say Eichel nets you 20G + 30A with 15PPP. By calculation, that would be 85 points, less than half of MAF. MAF locked up at 5.75 (I think) is pretty solid..

To me this looks easy to be a MAF slam dunk

How can I get in a keeper league where the league's 3rd highest scoring player last season is available in the entry draft the following summer?

Based on your scoring settings, Alex Ovechkin was the leading skater last season and he earned 168 points. The following goalies had more than him last season:

    Price - 221, Holtby 209, Fleury - 186, Rinne - 184, Halak - 182, Bishop 180, Dubnyk - 174, Quick - 174

In 2013-14, Ovechkin had 169 points while Crosby had 178 to lead all skaters. Fleury - 181 & Rask - 179 were the only goalies to beat Crosby that season. A number of other goalies had more points than Ovechkin though.

Based on these statistics, I would likely be taking Fleury before McDavid let alone before Eichel.
