I've since read that it might be a shoulder problem. Official word is UBI.

Whatever the issue is, I can promise it's not related to a shoulder or wrist. Mark Spector's timeline on twitter has a course of events (I am blocked haha).
Basically, Burrows left the ice yelling for help, walked down the aisle to the dressing room, and a stretcher was brought to the room for him. I highly, highly doubt this would be for a shoulder or wrist injury, although he was dealing with a wrist injury as well.

Speculating, but it doesn't sound like a wrist or shoulder. The rib hypothesis sounds likely. I've never broken one, but I have dislocated one and I wish I'd had a stretcher. either way, sounds like he is done for a long time. Too bad Kassian is hurt, they could use him.

A broken rib can damage other stuff so depending on how bad it was I can see them wanting to immobilize him.

Exactly. The lungs would be the main concern.

I assume Cowboy Russ broke it in the fight. Canucks didn't practice on the off day so he might not have noticed it until he started skating
