Can we choose GMs? I think Wilson in San Jose is gone before the playoffs start.

    Kessel, unless leafs get McDavid

Makes absolutely no sense to keep him if they're planning a rebuild.

Same goes for Phaneuf but leafs will get tons of offers at draft for Kessel. Phaneuf not so much

Just a hunch, Preds or Isles

Such a wide net to really pinpoint who will get moved first. But expect many changes in various cities.
San Jose and Toronto seem to be the favorite for wholesale changes so I expect these two teams to be the most aggressive.
San Jose will most likely fire Wilson and or McLellan but if McLellan is not fired he has an out clause if Wilson is fired, so we could see a complete Sharks leadership changeover.
Have to believe one of Marleau or Thornton is gone as well.

Edmonton probably moves a young forward, but which one? That's anyone's guess at this point. I'd guess it would be Eberle or Yakupov.

Ottawa will probably move one of Lehner or Anderson. I think Hammond has earned his way to a new deal. That leaves the door open to move a goalie.

Just my own personal opinion here but I think things will get real interesting in Boston and Los Angeles. If LA misses the playoffs I think they make some changes.
Boston could also be in the mix for a small makeover if their playoff season is short lived.

This years free agent class is rather slim and weak so it will be interesting to see how many more/less trades happen.

Todd McLellan has an out in his contract if the San Jose Sharks fire GM Doug Wilson according to a report on Hockey Night in Canada.
There have been plenty of rumors as well that McLellan could get the boot if the Sharks fail to make the post-season. If he does not return to San Jose, there will be plenty of teams interested in his coaching skills.

That's a pretty good list of intriguing option. All big name guys with big contracts who have been involved in trade rumours heavily.

From your list I think it's Kessel. Leafs are looking to make a major overhaul and Kessel will garner interest, he's still a stud player who many teams will covenant. I think a Kessel trade around the draft could spark a lot of other movement.

Kessel would fit in nicely in Florida. Huberdeau-Barkov-Kessel.

Trochek+Petrovic+2015 1st round pick (assuming FLA don't win the lottery) should be enough, right? That's two young NHL ready players (C and RD which TOR needs) and a Top-15 pick in a deep draft. Maybe the Panthers throw in a prospect or a 2nd/3rd round pick.

That's my prediction. So Kessel moves first, at the draft, to Florida.

don't think trochek/petrovic have high enough upsides for leafs to even consider that. huberdeau + 1st needs to be coming back if florida won't move the guys toronto really covets.

I think Kessel - the combo of him being aggressively shopped + having the most trade value among the aggressively shopped. I don't think the Oilers look to deal Eberle to be honest.
    8-GM / WK-H2H

Bobby Ryan was traded to Ottawa for Jakob Silfverberg, Stefan Noesen and 10th overall draft pick. I would say Trochek has similar value to Silfverberg at the time, Petrovic has similar value to Noesen, and the draft pick is in the same range. And I actually think Bobby Ryan had more trade value than Kessel has right now because of the contract Kessel has and the production he's had this season.

So based on the Bobby Ryan trade, that's the type of package Leafs should expect to get. I know they want Barkov+Bjugstad+1st but they're not going to get anything close to that.

I disagree with that comparison. I like Ryan, but Kessel is a much more offensive player, which is something that teams covet and will overpay for. Kessel has been in the top 10 in points a couple of times. Since the trade that sent him to Toronto, Kessel is fifth in goals and 15th in points. Sure, his cap hit is huge, but they can expect a top rated prospect back at the very least, plus picks and maybe a roster player. If not, they'll be content with Kessel's 40 goals, 80 points next year.
