If I was a fantasy owner of the KHL...I would salivate the day when Carcillo says good bye to Gretz and high tails it to Russia...:silly:
Here\'s something I learned from an interview with Russian enforcer Denis Bayev ...
It seems a fighting major in Russia is 25 PIM rather than just 5 as in the NHL. That means way less fights, but it also means PIM stats may be somewhat inflated.

i read an interview once from alexander svitov, and he said that the russian referees are anal as all hell... my words, obviously.
he said that the refs will call anything, even bodychecks that are too hard. he went onto say that the NHL brand of hockey was actually much better suited to his style of play, but that comfort and personal happiness were deciding factors in him choosing to play back home.
different game over there, for sure.

That would explain how Darcy Verot put up 511 PIM last year in 43 Games playing for Chekhov Vityaz of the RSL. The next closest guy had 251 PIM.Here\'s something I learned from an interview with Russian enforcer Denis Bayev ...

Bayev, the guy who was interviewed, was the one with the 251 PIM ...
Artukhin had 139 in 42 last year, 183 in 44 the year before. With him, however, I would guess it is more about officiating than fighting. He\'s not really a fighter. I would guess many of his hits would be legal in North America but illegal in Russia. I\'d say a season of 20 points and 100 PIM would be a reasonable high-end expectation from him this season. That\'s what I\'ll be penciling him for on the team in which I own him. Anything beyond that would be a bonus. Less than that is a possibility.

I\'ll take 100PIM and 20 pts. In a 30 GM league as a 3rd LW those stats will be $$$
