AGENT: SIX TEAMS INTERESTED IN SUNDIN\'S SERVICES

The number of teams legitimately interested in the services of Mats Sundin has increased to six according to his agent JP Barry.

\'\'The number has gone up, not gone down since July 1st,\'\' Barry told the Team 1040 Sports Radio station in Vancouver. \'\'The other three (teams) would like not to be discussed as much publicly because it just provides more scrutiny.\'\'

Barry did admit that Detroit is not one of the teams interested.

\'\'There are other teams that have said, \'We\'re that interested in a short-term, one to two year deal. We just want to let you know that if you give us some time, we\'ll make room\'.\" Barry told the Team 1040. \'\'So I don\'t think the demand will slow down if he takes longer. I think there\'s enough teams out there interested in his services that it\'s kind of a unique situation.\'\'

Barry also told the Team 1040 that Sundin might not be making any decisions by August 1st.

You know, when he was speaking in Sweden about August, unfortunately a lot of people picked up 1st of August. He meant August. Sorry in advance for not doing the link thing, but this might help shed some light on the possibilities.

Looking at the numbers, wouldn\'t be surprised to see Fla,Carolina, or Atl in the mix. How about Phx or even the Kings, that would be something.

I think the top 3 are probably.

Doubt SJS are in the mix, but you never know.

I would agree with Rangers for sure.... as much as I wanted to be a Nuck at first, i really hope it doesnt happen. Let\'s build. I\'d rather see Vermette or even Afino come over....

Vancouver
Montreal
NY Rangers
Detroit
Anaheim
Toronto

Personally, I think he has already an agreement with the Canucks !

NYI = no. not a playoff team.

Bruins = I don\'t see Sundin fit there.

Ott = hehehe... You imagine the crowd at Toronto if Sundin wear a Sen jersey..... jeeeeez!

Wash = may be. To play Alex the great.
Caro = no. They need wingers not center.
Florida = no. At least I would retire.
Attlanta = no. not a playoff team
TB = no. middle position is set with Vinny and Stamkos

For the west I just see Colorado or Anaheim

Well of the six Barrie mentioned we know only 3

Vancouver - that is public
Toronto - They have made him an offer
Montreal - also with a public offer

Leaving 3 to speculate over:

NYR - Sundin has said he would like to play for the Rangers
Was - I think they have the cap space and are in the East.
Chi - do they have the cap space without moving one of their goalies?

other possibilities but doubtful.
Edm - Why come over to the west and not take the $10mil offered by the Canucks with Luongo in net?

Pho - cap space, a young team but would he be interested?

Ott - they would have to move some players to fit him in the mixer.
