Coach says day-to-day, GM says 1-2 weeks. Interesting. Let's hope it's less but knowing Malkin's history, whenever he's day-to-day he always misses like a week anyway. Plan accordingly.

My league only has weekly changes and if I reserve Malkin and he plays he becomes a free agent. So, I chose to keep him active this week...

Rotoworld is reporting based on the coach's earlier comments about Malkin being day-to-day. GM updated his status to 1-2 weeks later so that would be the more accurate estimate.

Just to let everyone know, technically MacKinnon is DTD with a broken foot, even though he is out 6-8weeks. Late march to april DTD’s mean week-to-week pretty much.

I'm screwed in my league with Malkin, Hornqvist, Neal, Shattenkirk, Giordano, Byfuglien and Jenner out!

To be fair, you must have expected to some extent you would at least be without Malkin, Hornqvist, Giordano, or Byfuglien (or any combination of them) during playoffs. Having all 4 be healthy would be unlikely.

Evgeni Malkin might not join the Penguins before the end of their road trip after all.
"I was hoping originally [he] might be able to come on the road," Penguins coach Mike Johnston said. "Right now, it doesn't look like that, but we'll see after four or five days." Pittsburgh played in New Jersey on Tuesday and will play in Dallas Thursday night and in Arizona on Saturday. The Penguins have been limited to just one goal over their last three games, so they could certainly use all the help they can get right now.
