Default What to give up for Pacioretty?

    Hey All,

From my team in the sig, what would you offer for Patches? I've been wanting him or Perry, as this guy is far back in the standings and has basically given up. The league is heavy on goals. Any suggestions appreciated and reps given.

Well, you don't want to give up anybody better than him, obviously. So that means you'll have to give up two, right? So who are your bottom two? What does he need? Assuming you are going to part with a F and a D, I'd take a shot at offering Boychuk. He has been hot in the last couple of games, but he's not on the #1 PP. I don't think your other owner will want Trouba, and you sure dont want to give up the other D's. And maybe throw in one of these: Stastny, Lehera or Ribeiro? those guys are FA's in my league. Then you grab the best FA D-man out there to fill the open slot, or take a F and play with 4 D's. I seldom see the wisdom of holding extra D's. Even if you have an eligible F on the bench from time to time, you can usually get more production from 2 F starts than from 3-4 D starts.

If he has given up all hope, you might offer up Kessel one-for-one and see what happens. He's not killin' it, TOR is out of the race, and unless he gets traded to a contender he's not going to get better than he is now.

Unfortunately there are no FA pickups, only trades. Would you still offer a 2 for 1 deal and have one empty spot?
I've debated about offering Kessel...but he can't slump forever can he? With Kessel, maybe I could go after Perry.

No FA's? Dang. Well, I'd take Patches over any of these: Palat, Tatar, Kunitz, Stepan. And personally, I'd take Patches over Kessel too, except that I just noticed that you don't count +/-, and that's Kessel's biggest liability. So maybe you should try to hold him. You could work your way up the chain by offering one of the lesser guys until you get to Kessel. But you might not do badly by offering Boychuk along with, say, Kunitz. You'd lose some PPP but in the end I don't think you'd lose on that trade. You can't play 5 D's anyway. So maybe you lose one start each week?

Thank you thank you for the advice! I'm going to work my way up to Kessel, see if he'll bite.
I know, no FA moves makes it difficult and the draft that much more important.

I have a pending trade: My Stepan for his Pacioretty...

Can anyone else offer a yay or nay?
