Re: What to give up for Pacioretty?
Well, you don't want to give up anybody better than him, obviously. So that means you'll have to give up two, right? So who are your bottom two? What does he need? Assuming you are going to part with a F and a D, I'd take a shot at offering Boychuk. He has been hot in the last couple of games, but he's not on the #1 PP. I don't think your other owner will want Trouba, and you sure dont want to give up the other D's. And maybe throw in one of these: Stastny, Lehera or Ribeiro? those guys are FA's in my league. Then you grab the best FA D-man out there to fill the open slot, or take a F and play with 4 D's. I seldom see the wisdom of holding extra D's. Even if you have an eligible F on the bench from time to time, you can usually get more production from 2 F starts than from 3-4 D starts.
If he has given up all hope, you might offer up Kessel one-for-one and see what happens. He's not killin' it, TOR is out of the race, and unless he gets traded to a contender he's not going to get better than he is now.
