I would still keep an eye out. The day that Seguin returned it was reported he was going to be out until the following week and then was a gametime decision hours later, so something similar may happen with Hall closer to the start of the game.

The way I'm reading these updates is he'll be back Wednesday or Saturday.

Guess I'll play it safe and sit him this week... ugh, disappointing... I needed him!

Okay, I'm MORE (i wrote less earlier, brain fart) pessimistic that he'll play at all this week, and it's now certain he won't play tonight.

    And this is even worse:

(2/2) MacTavish on Hall: Want to make sure injury completely healed + he's in great condition. Won’t see him until he's ready to do that.

EDM GM Craig MacTavish said injured Taylor Hall will play in some games before end of the season, but not until he is fully ready (1/2)

Sounds to me like this is part of tanking strategy

Yes and no. They have no need to rush him back because they aren't in a playoff race, but Hall suffered a pretty serious injury and has sometimes rushed back from them. So they're well within their rights.

My guess is he returns Saturday or Monday next week.

Good to see Taylor Hall on ice... Even if he's taking it very easy. No go vs Blue Jackets #oilers #yeg

on cbs page, and as i feared he will likely start out with bum line mates given that the rnh line is red hot without him. Hopefully he gets on pp#1 but i suspect even then he'll be eased in slowly.

News: (6 hrs ago) Coach Todd Nelson suggested that Taylor Hall (ankle) could be back in the lineup Saturday against the Flyers.
Analysis: Taylor Hall has missed 23 of the Oilers' last 24 games due to the ankle injury, with his absence significantly aiding the team's efforts to land a top draft pick. However, it appears the winger, who still ranks third on the team in scoring despite the missed time, might be in line to draw back in Saturday. Hall ditched his yellow non-contact jersey at Friday's practice and appeared to participate fully in line work with Anton Lander and Ryan Hamilton. The Oilers should reach a decision on Hall's status following Saturday's morning skate.

if i were in a daily league i wouldn't put him up if i had a decent alternative.

I think the more aggressive decision would have been to snap, him up and then come here to tell us you have. Hope you didn't miss out.

I hope the person debating Hall over RNH watched game tonight, I'd much rather have the latter. Can't see Hall doing a lot rest of way on 3rd line with couple of no-names and getting crumb PP time.

I doubt the Oilers continue to use Hall like that. They were probably just bringing him along slowly for his first game back.

Only if one of the top two lines go cold for a couple of games do i see Hall get promoted. Team and PP have been terrible all year, now the offence and the top guns start clicking with Hall in a cast. It would make absolutely no sense to mess with that chemistry.

^ This. I think they started him on the #1 PP too, but after his turnover, he played less there. However, after a game or two, he should be right back at it. I can't really see the Oilers thinking Pouliot or Purcell is a longterm upgrade over Hall- even if they have had solid chemistry the last little while. (Kinda like Talbot vs. Lundqvist… ride your horse as soon as he's healthy).

    Now, as a Hall owner, c'mon: giddy-up!
