Is this in a keeper league? If so...yikes.

A few weeks ago, I shipped Hall for Forsberg and Drouin 241 and took some heat for it.

Loved it then, and really lovin it now.....

Just traded OEL, Klingberg, Schwartz and a 2nd for Hall, Kronwall and a 7th

This is the optimal time to buy low on Hall.

Keep betting on your figure skaters, guys like Hall are in the same class with players who play hard and sometimes dues are paid.

I see Hall no different then Lindros, Forsberg, or Lemieux in playing style and if you think those guys are band aid then who are these real hockey players who we need to keep an eye on.

What a Joke, if you want to soften the league up then lets drop hitting and allow women to play. No more band aids, because we have a weak league were no one hits or gets hit.

Hall, Lindros, Forsberg, and Lemieux are far from band aid they are guys who turn guys in to band aids.

Every team needs a guy like Hall, he is not the solution to the Oilers problems but he is the Mark Messier that Mcdavid might need for the next 10 seasons.

6 keeper league. My team had a bunch of 5-6th level keepers so I condensed. Benn, Giroux, Shattenkirk, MacKinnon, Halak, then Tarasenko, Forsberg, Hall, or Landeskog were my keepers.

If Stamkos could score more than OEL right now that would be great. I think I’ve won 1 out of 3 weeks since making that trade.

this is from the bandaid boy page:

(Note - this is strictly for guidance in fantasy hockey. This list is not meant to belittle the seriousness of a player's injury problems, nor is it meant to punish a player for 'playing hard' and being a 'warrior' on the ice. It is what it is - a list of players who are at greater risk of missing games. "How" they miss those games matters little in fantasy hockey. In other words, this list is meant to be used as a tool to help your run your fantasy team, not to insult anyone)

i would say taylor hall is definitely quaified to be a bandaid boy

I think most poolies would have done the same.

In keeper leagues, it all depends on where your team is. If you are a contender, then you don't want Hall right now because he is still young and rambunctious. If you are in rebuild mode, then he's your man. He will figure it out and when he does, he will become a lot more dependable. He's way too talented not to.

    2012-13 Hall missed 3 games
    2013-14 Hall missed 7 games

So ten games in the past 2 seasons makes you not draftable I guess. Also over a point per game both seasons.

For me, the difference between Hall and other band-aid boys is that he misses games due to hockey related issues and his style of play (aggressive, hard skater, a little reckless at times).

This is less frustrating than a guy who get injured eating pancakes, or a guy who steps on a stick in practice and is out, or a guy out for months just jumping on the ice.

My perception of Hall is still good, but in the end missed games is missed games. I'm hoping he can put all these injuries behind him and become like Patrice Bergeron.

This exactly, yes it is less frustrating looking at how he misses games but at the end of the day it's still missed games, i love hall and hope he can put the injuries behind him but to me he has more "trade-value" then actual value to my fantasy team.

never said he was undraftable but i completely believe that he is becoming a "band-aid boy"

This does not mean that he should stop playing the way he does or any of that i am speaking from a pure fantasy hockey standpoint.

Is he absolutely a band aid boy??

No not at all, but considering he has never played a full NHL season, albeit 7 games off is not bad at all and 5 games pro-rated over an 82 game season would not be band-aid boy status, if this year had of been like the last two seasons i would not consider him a band-aid boy really because it would have been three seasons since he missed significant time, but hes missed significant time before and is looking like it is about to happen again.

So like it says in the definition of a band aid boy that i posted earlier, to me hall is a player is at a greater risk of missing games

So is Crosby, so is Malkin, so is Zetterberg and Datsyuk... Giroux has had multiple games missed aswell...So do many elite game changing players. And yet they still produce.

datsyuk is a band-aid boy to me, minus the lockout season ( which could be argued that the wear and tear on the players body wasnt as significant because of the shorter time period and less games) hasnt played a full season since the '09-'10 season.

Malkin i would say is a BAB as well. Again has missed significant time quite often, not including this season ( so far so good but season is just over half done so there is plenty of hockey left hopefully he plays the full season but who knows so far)

Zetterberg missed signifiacnt time last year and if he misses significant time this year then i would consider him a BAB.

Crosby is a bab but if he can stay healthy this year which is looking good i will be more confident in him paying a full season as he also played a full season last year (2 games off is nothing) ( halls 3 games off isnt much either in the shortned season as it is still 77 games played over an 82 game season but its the seasons of injuries before that thta make me consider hall a BAB.

And if you consider giroux the same amount of risk to miss games as hall then whatever floats your boat because giroux has missed 5 games over 5 seasons hall missed 7 last year, 3 in the shortened season, and 21 the year before that.

I think we interpret the status " bandaid boy" differently though.

To me you trade a band-aid boy if you can get equal or better production than what your player would do if he is healthy, if you cannot get that value then do not do it

Just because a player is a bandaid boy does not mean he is invaluable, it just means that he cannot be relied upon to play an 82 game season.

giroux IMO can considering he has 4 full seasons in the last 5.
