This might be a newbie question, and a bit off-topic, but when does Booker get the IR stamp? What is the protocol in these situations? When a team announces that a player has been officially placed on IR, its adjusted accordingly in Yahoo!? Then why dont they just place the damn guy on IR and get it over with? Why keep him dtd in a case as obvious as this? If a player is placed in IR, another one can be called up to replace him, if the roster wouldnt allow it otherwise? Is that the only function of IR? And then there was a minimum time of how long you have to be on IR when placed there?

I hate it when theyre dtd. Gotta make some moves man, lets go, lets go!

Your should tell your league to have IR+ which lets you put DTD guys on it. As for when he actually goes IR, Yahoo takes a while sometime. The teams themselves sometimes don't even designate their injured players onto injured reserve, in which case Yahoo never well. In this case, I imagine the Isles will place him on IR. There's been no rush since no games.

Yea, I've been trying to get our commish to have an IR+ slot, we currently have 2 IR only. I'd be happy with 1 and 1.

The following isles can be grabbed in my g,a,p,ppp, pim, sog, hit league. Moves are limited so some certainty or longevity is helpful.

Looking to drop Pavelec for one. I'm leaning towards Lee, Martin, or Grabner. I like hits. thoughts?

Nielsen - just C hurts. decent production - any upside with Okposo out?
Anders Lee - C,LW - decent production and good for hits. upside?
Kulemin - lw,rw - decent in all cats.
Bailey - LW - just lw. better options unless likely to be a mainstain top 6.
Matt Martin - LW - hits beast. any chance production increases?
Grabovski - C,LW,RW - love the 3 position eligibility. useless for hits. bad sog/ppp. low points.
Grabner - LW,RW - 6 points in 12 games. decent sog and hit too. dark horse?

If hits/PIM is your targeted cats, then Martin is your man. Don't expect much in the way of points though. If you want to take a shot, Grabovski is slated to play on the top line. Not sure he'll show up, but he might be worth a gamble. I grabbed him as soon as Okposo went to IR in Yahoo. I'm hoping he can produce at a 50+ point pace until I can figure how to fill in for the loss of Okposo.

Problem is with limited moves can't really just take gambles. I only have 7 moves left for rest of the year. (20 max in league)

Keep an eye on Grabo. He scored a goal on a pretty tic-tic-tic-tic-toe play and did not look out of place on the top line. He brings some speed as well, and made a few nice passes along the way. With limited moves I would just keep an eye on him for now. Martin was a freight train last night and also chipped in a goal and a few Pims.

How many games do we anticipate Okposo will play upon his return? Maybe 10?

6-8 weeks injury would put him return date March 9th-March 23rd. So that’s 22-28games. I’m unsure if it’s 6-8weeks from his retro-active IR date (January 19th) or 6-8 weeks from January 26th (when it was announced).

he may not be able to do any type of intense rehab if its an eye injury type of recovery (rumour only).

if/when he returns it may take awhile to get up to speed .

I know we have a few Isles guys on here. Does anyone have any insight on what actually happened here? I'm not liking the fact that we hear rumors of an eye injury but nothing has been quantified. I hope it is something relatively minor, but anytime I hear "eye" it just reminds me of Berard and that's scary.

Yeah I'm trying to see if he's worth trading for, given that I'm over in GP

Might be worth it to get him for 10-12 games if I'm going to be sitting someone for 25 games anyway

Absolutely nothing...even the announcers have no idea, unless they were told to keep their mouths shut. It's a huge mystery.
