SUPERBOWL - Seahawks vs. Pats
Figured it was about time we started a Superbowl thread.
I don't really watch much football (in fact I usually only watch final 4), but being the degenerate gambler that I am, I'll use any excuse to bet BIG and the Superbowl is as good as it gets. I've been fortunate enough to pick the winner the 4 years in a row. Not due to any skill, but just sheer luck and gut instinct.
Seahawks paid off for me last year so I'm thinking of going right back to them. Gonna drop $400-500... for Superbowl I typically bet straight up 1:1, no odds or spreads... guess that makes sense this year since the spread is practically non-existent anyway.
What do you guys think... am I crazy here? Pats are looking awfully good...

Man this is going to be a good game!
I Can't remember the last time a Superbowl was pick'em with respect to the line. Also, I can't remember any sporting event ever going from one favourite to the other (Seahawks started as a 2-point favourite now some books have Patriots as a 1-point favourite).
My limited NFL betting record is very poor so I say go with your gut, slap down some $$ and enjoy the ride!

Fun fact, the Super Bowl line opened at Seahawks -2.5 but because the Patriots looked "so good" the line has since swung to Patriots -2.0.

My prediction is seahawks 24 patriots 20
last year the seahawks (and their historically great defense) shutdown a historically great offense in manning and the broncos. most believe in the mantra of defense wins championships.
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.

As a 49ers fan, I despise the Shithawks. DESPISE!!!!
I hate the Pats as well, but not as much as I hate the Shithawks.
I dont want to cheer for either team, but I will be cheering against the Shithawks more.

I just want to see a great game. I'm a Ravens fan, though, so slightly pulling for the Seahawks.

Being a Raiders fan (shut up) last year's Superbowl was my nightmare. Broncos and Seahawks, my two least favorite teams.
This year is much easier, go Patriots! I'm not much of a Pats fan either, but I'll take them all day over Seattle. Makes it so much worse to live in the Pacific Northwest and have to deal with all of the brand new Seahawks fans with their 12th man jerseys and not even knowing who Shaun Alexander is. Ugh please New England, destroy them.

Hard to say who has more pressure. Seahawks are Defending Champs but they don't get the credit of a Super Bowl Champion, I know I don't give them enough credit.
Conversely this may be the last kick for Brady and Belichick (said every year). As legendary as Brady's career has been they haven't won a Super Bowl since 2004!
As far as media pressure consider this: of the 4 major sports teams in Boston the Patriots have the Longest Championship Drought!
