Default ...hold or trade Morgan Rielly

in negotiations with another GM on a package that at first i didn't like but, now i am reconsidering:

    Ladd
    Pavelski
    Keith

    for my

    Duchene
    O'Reilly
    Rielly

i sharply declined and we have agreed in principal (no trigger pulled by him yet) on Keith/Pavelski for the COL duo, taking out Ladd and Rielly. Like i said no deal yet, not sure if hes rethinking or what...

looking at this again this morning and i am wondering if the first deal isnt so bad. MR could be a year or two away from being a beast, while my dmen are producing well in the meantime.

    Thoughts?

Bump...same question here. Thanks for asking for me aswell.

I feel I have no choice but to be patient, but feel it's incredibly important to draft a D high to step for him as I wait out the growing pain years. They are to be expected. But seem unanimous across the boards that this kid has incredible offensive upside. Just depends on how long you/I are willing to wait for it.

    Not much help I know.

to clarify, i will be happy as hell to make this deal without moving Rielly, but i get the feeling the other guy is working on adding in MR to the deal..

i need to make some moves to improve my offense, and Pav and Keith provide that, ROR and Duch just aint doing it. Ladd would be a decent guy to own as well as the Jets are looking good.

I think the real question here is if you have a team to win this year. If yes, you should do it as it clearly gives you some offensive boost. Rielly dont play much this year and its even worst lately. Keith will get you some nice number. The 3 guy you would get are also better on the pim and ąside. For the long term, you probably give the 2 player (in Duchene and Rielly) with the better upside in the deal but even considering that, the 3 player you'd get are still in their prime and should work realy well for you another 3-4 year easy.
    Hope this help.

yes, thanks. i know i lose the youth battle pretty easily, and i am on teh cusp of actually being competitive this year.

Question is..i guess is Ladd for Rielly worth it?

In a league that doesn't count hits I don't mind the loss of Kreider. I like it a lot.
