But if it's in any way to compare Klingberg to Karlsson, that's going off the deep end. All of you who have done that, obviously Dutch but perhaps others, I'd love to see you drop Karlsson for Klingberg. Let's see how many of you would have the balls to do that.
But in the end I think many of these Karlsson threads have one aim, to annoy BigEv. I think he often goes way too far with his Sens homerism, but I think the same is true for those of you who go out of your way to harass him because of it. Let it go boys.

Karlsson is not on his way to another Norris this year. But the rest of his team is not that great. If you think other offensive d could do better you are crazy. One player can only do so much. He plays a ton so he is going to be on ice for lots of goals against. Right now Gio is the man for Norris in my book. Hedman hasn't played enough.

I think the biggest knock against Karlsson is that he can't put the team on his back and carry it the way Weber or Doughty can, when the Sens suck, he flounders a bit, specially on D. When the team is playing well though, he can play his full offensive game and he's dominant. Subban is a very different player than Karlsson but in this respect they are similar, for PK to excel he needs backup so he can jump into the rush and take chances down low, Markov fills that role perfectly...Karlsson needs a Markov and some better talent overall around him and he'll go back to being a 70+ pt d-man

You nailed it. Offensive d need some talent around them to thrive. They can't do it all them self. I was close to picking Weber with third overall pick this year but went with Karlsson. Rethinking probably should went Weber. But didn't think Preds where going to any good either.

Klingberg and Karlsson shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath never mind being compared to each other. One guy was the 15 the pick overall, has won a major trophy and is an elite player. The other, 131 overall and has played a grand total of 13 games. Why this is even a discussion is beyond me. Ask any general manager in any league who they would take.

It was brought up because someone thought he'd be smart and ask if klinberg should win the Norris because of 13 games. Dutch made a good point, if the votes were today for the Norris, klingberg SHOULD be ahead of Karlsson due to stats. I myself am an offensive defenceman and I pride myself on plus minus more than I do scoring pts because my title is defence of course. Karlsson is fine and dandy in those leagues that don't count plus minus...mine does...but I think he needs to be called out for his garbage defensive play because its FUN.
