Gomez and Carle vrs Vrbata and Niedermayer

I have all four of these players but with the salary cap we have I will only be able to play one of these combos, no long run implications only for next year who do you like

I\'d go Gomez and Carle. I think Gomez will beat out Vrbata by at least 20 points, should be more and Carle should be close to Niedermeyer at the end, maybe a couple short but Gomez will definitely make up for that.

I\'m with Smack - I think the point gap between the two could be closer than he suggests but I can\'t imagine it ever going in favor of Vrbata/Neids.

Well actually I suppose it could now that I think about it. I just think Gomez is in the saddle now and will have a great season and I am optimist about Carle with a minimum of 40.

Neids could surprise and go 70 points but I doubt it and Vrbata will need a fortunate set of events to go over 60.

Gomez and Carle definitely. I think Gomez can hit 75-80 points this year. He had a really bad start last year and then finished strong.

Gomez/Carle definitely, I like the upside of both alot this year...

I think Gomez/Naslund would be a great match, I think they would compliment each other well and they\'d each be close to ppg

Carle is in the perfect position to really breakout this year on TB, he should QB that PP and get back to a nice 40+ pt season

Carle will have a big bounce back season of 40-45 points. I think Vrbata fits in well, but Gomez will carry the NYR offense. Carle/Gomez for me as well.

I have this close to a coin flip in a straight points format.

My guess...
Gomez [80] + Carle [40] = 120
Vrbata [60] + Niedermayer [60] = 120

Best case scenario for Gomez and Carle IMO would add about 5 points to each for a total of 130. However, I could see a similar addition on the other side as well.

I\'d be curious to know what you save [if anything] cap-wise on both of these options.

My preference is the same as everyone else\'s [Gomez/Carle], but I think it\'s really close in a 1 year pool.

Ya its close, I save under a million with the vrbata and nieds combo which is minor. Its tough choice I might still see if i can find a replacement for vrbata but who knows
