    Question Moving Burns

I threw out the offer of Burns to another GM for P. Kane. My thought was on moving a hot commodity for a cold one right now. But wanted to get some feedback from the community on this deal. What do you think about this move? Is Burns the real deal and I should be holding on to him as a perennial Top 5 Dman going forward?

I am tied for first right now in my league, so I do have a chance to win it, but I am more concerned about my teams future with some of my aging vets on forward.

It won't get accepted. I get it's a sell-high or a buy-low, but still. No one in their right mind would accept this in a points league.

i like what Kane brings to your RW slot. Losing Burns is gonna hurt, but you have Hedman, Yandle, Barrie, Doughty and Josi you can deploy there. After this year, you really want to rely on Lecavalier and St Louis at RW?

This is a good move for you

Burns is the real deal, I'd put him in the top 10 of Dmen but I'm not sure he cracks the top 5 (the only big problem with Burns is his tendency to get injured). Having said that, I don't think there's any way you get Kane for Burns in any format.

Actually these guys have a good point, maybe consider throwing in a prospect like Lehtera or something to sweeten the deal.

As others said, I'd have a hard time seeing this one being accepted.

But the more important question that comes to mind is: how does this fit into the other manager's strengths/weaknesses? You have more of a chance of making a deal, potentially involving these two, if he's weak on D and strong on RW. But context is important and straight up seems unlikely.

Be sure to take him out and get him good and hammered first before offering this deal.

With any luck he'll accept it and pass out and not even remember it the next day.

For Patrick Kane? No way in hell that gets accepted.
You gotta aim a little closer to center if you expect to gain any traction, I'd laugh at this offer.

Thanks for the input everyone. I guess I was shooting too high.

The other team definitely could use Burns to improve his D (would be easily the best Dman for him) and has some decent strength on RW (stamkos/kucherov/oshie). But I have a feeling the other team isn't pushing for a win now mode, so Burns wouldn't be ideal anyways.

I'll check with a few other GMs for a different RW replacement.
