Rask vs. Malkin

How do their values stack up against each other? One team has made Rask, Quick and Pavelec available, thinking of going big on Rask while his value is slightly lowered and hopefully move 1-2 of my other goalies to teams that need a starter.

You probably have a better chance at Quick.

You have a few good pieces that I would offer before Malkin. Try Benn for Rask and if he declines then add a +. You might want to wait to Benn has a big game though as he and Dallas have sucked lately.

I was hoping I could move Parise but his injury doesn't help.

Depending on how long ago he drafted Rask or how he acquired Rask, you may need to OVER pay. I know I went out and got Rask to solidify goaltending for yrs. For someone to trade for him, they’d have to over pay for sure. Malkin=Rask depending on what you need, but GMs who get elite goalies tend to want to dominate goalie cats.

If you want a goalie and to trade Malkin, I’d do Quick + JvR (60pt guy). Or a Malkin + for Quick + 70pt guy. Rask, Lundqvuist and Price are thee 3 hardest goalies to acquire via trade.

Other goalies you may want to look at that would be a good time to buy on are Schneider, and Lehtonen, or buffalo’s goalies if you need Svs and Sv%. They are actually doing very well, they just don’t get a lot of help from the scorers.

Then yeah IMHO you would need a Malkin as realistically with 5 categories and acquiring a top 3 goalie on most peoples lists

No don't start there...you'll wind up killing the negotiations altogether.

Malkin wouldn't be far off, and the sweetener would be the deal breaker. I'd try including another goalie first.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I started off with an offer including Benn to get things started, since I know he had interest in him before. I'm sure he'll counter, but if it ends up including Malkin, I'd rather build up to that point.

There's no way I'm trading for Rask in H2H.
Boston is probably a lock for playoffs... and if they are IN, they may even be resting Rask in your league H2H playoffs.

IIRC, Rask/Johnson essentially split starts 1:1 the last two weeks for the Bruins season last year.
Half starts from a goalie in H2H playoffs, no thank you. (even with a 7/5 category split, I'm passing)

Whoops, completely misread this. But that is a good point - I have Rask in another league and didn't have Johnson to handcuff so I lost some starts in the playoffs. Svedberg seems to be a solid backup so I guess Boston might continue to do the same thing.
