    Default Schiefele/Datsyuk

    One for One.

    Stats below.

Thoughts? Obviously, Datsyuk is better, but age/injuries are a concern.

Schiefele is younger, team isnt as talent laden, is saying all the right things about being a good player, but still jury is out.

Thoughts? Rep gun ready to fire.

i say keep schiefele, as you said he is younger and less injury concern plus he still has upside that we are yet to seen, with datsyuk his best years are behind him and personally i think schefele will out produce him this year due to injuries and then continue to produce above him as he developes and datsyuk gets even older

The only reason I'd go after Datsyuk is if I was making a run for it this year or next. Otherwise I'd rather have Scheifele long term. Datsyuk is an all world talent, no doubt, but injuries are definitely a concern and I don't see him playing more than 65 games/season going forward. Datsyuk will outpoint Sheifele on a per game basis, but will miss many more games, so it'll end up closer than it should be. I'd hold onto Scheifele

Datsyuk is transitioning into being a 60-ish point player. Either because of current injuries, or just the build up of injuries over the years, he's not a guy who's going to challenge PPG numbers anymore. I'd rather take the chance on Scheifele at this point since you won't have to worry about if he's gonna be in your lineup or not.

Thanks all. I (after putting it out there, and having 2nd thoughts) Schiefele and my 1st round pick (redraft, probably. Mid rounder) for Datsyuk and Steen. Figured that was a good return. I have a feeling about Steen this year.

I like that move. I've been trying to target Datsyuk for cheap but it hasn't been working. I'd rather have Datsyuk and even if he gets injured just grab a player to replace him and you'll still end up on top. Especially if you're competing this and next yea .

Scheifele is at best a 60 point player IMO whereas Datsyuk is at worst a 60 point player. If you're going for it this year, next year or the year after I'd want Datsyuk here easily but if your team is on the younger side I'd take Scheif if that was my only option. I'd ultimately probably look to get a better young player who may be a year or two behind Scheif in his development though.
