Ha! I've been living in Scotland for awhile and still many of these words are new to me. I do know several of them, though.

Was "Dobber" one you knew? I'm not a native Englsih speaker, so I can't judge how common this is…

But, yes, I love this accent, too! And it's easy to imitate for me because we have lots of similar "rough" sounds (e.g. the rolling "R") in Swiss German

Yes, I've googled Dobber plenty of times over the last decade

I thought it was English though

Nope, didn't know Dobber. I should ask my fiance, though.

The coolest accents besides the Scots, have got be Irish, Indian, and Aussie/Kiwi. The Aussies and New Zealanders sound almost identical to me, but I'm sure there are differences my ears/brain just aren't picking up. Listening to somebody from India speak English is fun. Their accent has a nearly musical quality, it's so mesmerizing.

There is actually a character in the Game of Thrones books named Dobber.
I thought this was fun when I read it.

He's an effin criminal sent to the Night's Watch at the Wall!

I bet they play fantasy hockey at the Night's Watch. Great way to pass the time on cold dark nights.

A good geordie accent is hard to beat.

As for differentiating Aussie from Kiwi, it is pretty straightforward. If you feel a desire to punch them then they are Aussie... apologies to all Australian dobberites
