Has he ever fallen. 54 weeks ago I drafted him 1st round (albeit it was an autopick and I wouldn’t pick rice ever), 3 weeks ago he was a 5th-8th round pick. Now he’s teamless, even though he should be suspended for a yr in my books.
1st offense 1 yr ban
2nd offense lifetime ban (I only say a 1yr long ban first because it would be tough to see a wrongful conviction rob someone of their job)
I don’t think he’ll get picked up. If Cognito can’t get a job because of bullying, I doubt Rice will get a job because of this. Even though he may still be a solid RB, I would never employ him on my team, fantasy or real life. Apparently some Commish’s are removing Rice from their league entirely, and compensating any owners with waiver wire priority for X number of weeks.

What pisses me off is the frothing at the mouth now. Why wasn't this outrage done before? Sure, people were pissed, but what I'm seeing now far exceeds that. What did people think happened in the elevator? He touched her lightly, she stumbled and fell? Come on. We already knew he slugged her and this outrage and indefinite suspension should have already happened. This second video would then be met with a "yeah, I thought so, thank goodness we reacted properly a month ago"

I knew she was knocked out before. But its 2 new things for me that make me madder.
-He actually punched her. I honestly thought it was an open hand backhand that made her hit her face against the floor/wall the wrong way. I only thought this because she still stayed with him.
-The lack of concern he had for her afterwards. It was a solid amount of time from when she was hit, to when the door opened and he only moved when the door opened. It shows me he’s done this before.
Also I think it just became “real” for people when they saw this video. It’s like anything bad, you know there are elephants getting poached in Africa, but it’s more real if you see the video.
Also new news. NFL suspends Rice indefinitely after the release. So he’s got an 8 game suspension coming (I think that’s the new rule), and I doubt a team this yr will pick him up. His career as an NFL player could very well be done.

Saddest part of the whole story is that she's still with him. Maybe now that his football career is over, she'll reconsider - hope so for her sake because as nasty as this guy was before, he'll be 10x as nasty from now on, since he'll surely blame her for it all.

Because an open handed backhand to the face somehow makes it less of abuse? This comment shows that our society has a long ways to go yet.
Abuse is a massive issue and the NFL continually turns a blind eye to it - but they clearly can do it because society doesn't give a crap either for the most part.

I don't have an issue with that. In my mind, there is quite a wide margin between drug use and smacking a woman around.
Besides, the CFL usually takes whatever they can get.

Looks pretty gross, and I'm sure he deserves all of the backlash he'll get. I read through some of what people have been saying, and one thing that gets me is how many people are eager to say that you 'NEVER HIT A WOMAN NO MATTER WHAT!' - That's horseshit. There are circumstances where hitting a woman is absolutely appropriate. It doesn't seem like this is one of those times in any way, but just saying...
