If you made an attempt with Seguin and different player, I'd just stand pat then. I'm never a big fan of overpaying for someone unless it's a limited keeper league.

I'm tempted to stay pat as well. I wouldn't know otherwise how to replace the hits that Schenn gives me without giving up too many points. And Seguin has a better cast to produce on the PP.
Am I totaly wrong if I think Schenn could play on the Flyers first PP ? He could play at the right wall while Voracek mans the point.

Personnally, I'd wait and hope that MacKinnon pulls a Yakupov and has a sophomore slump, then perhaps his owner would let him go for less. Not saying that it will happen, but Colorado's offensive zone start % seems to indicate that the team might regress a bit this year...

Sorry folks, I did overpay but I thought this was one of the last chance of acquiring MacKinnon, before he really breaks out. His value is higher than Seguin in our pool and I see his upside the same as Crosby in a couple years.

This is a great post. I'm not sure the price to get MacK is worth it right now. The only way most teams are going to get him are by significantly overpaying, and that's going to lead to a team gutting itslef from a chance at winning. If you're team is in the dumps anyways and you're going for a long rebuild, then it might make sense, but other than that I'm not sure I'd do it.
As a MacK owner, Seguin/Trouba would probably get me to bite, especially if I'm rebuilding. That's a great way to speed up the rebuild right away. But if I'm on the other side, that's a big bite out of my team for a kid that isn't the best player in the deal yet.
