The only smart overpayments are short term ones.

I would gladly give a guy like Hossa or Campbell 11-12 million (if there was the space) for 2 or 3 years. Trying to plan a deal that is for the better part of a decade is damn near impossible.

A fellow poster here (grnhornet) brought up a good point offline. You\'re basically exchanging Tucker for Hagman. The salaries are the same.

Who would you rather have in Toronto? Tucker or Hagman?

or you could have passed on Hagman since, as someone mentioned in this thread, Toronto already has tons of solid 3rd liners and really, that is where Hagman should be playing.

I would rather neither. At least with Finger there is a prayer that he could get 30 points and be a decent No.4 guy. Yes, they overpaid...but an optimist can see hope.

Hagman...that\'s just beyond ridiculous. Yes, it is Jason Blake all over again. I had a good laugh in my ramblings on this one, check it out. Good ol\' bumbling Leafs, eh?

    Hey dobber, good points there.

But I want to point out that when I go to the dobberhockey home page, yesterday\'s ramblings are being shown on the right panel instead of today\'s.
