That seems like a pretty big streach for him. I don\'t think he\'s nearly as effective in the new NHL.

I was just telling a friend how bad the Finger and Commodore signings were, then I saw the thread. As an Ohioan, I can\'t say that I\'ve done my part in giving the Blue Jackets, but moves like this don\'t make me warm up to Cbus any. As for Finger, I\'m still shocked.

    (insert sarcasm) Hooray!

Commodore adds depth to a weak d-core but what we really need is a puck moving defensemen, not another shut down guy.

I don\'t think Commodore is as bad as a lot of you guys think. The fact is that the trendy pickup on defense is the mobile puckmoving guy. Last year it was the slapshot master. The year before it was the shutdown guy.

Stay-at-home dmen may not have a whole heck of a lot of value nowadays, but he\'s cheaper than Jay mcKee, more durable, and provides the same leadership qualities, and is nearly as effective. Jay mcKee is among the best shutdown guys, and Commodore is close in quality. He\'ll be more expensive than Foote, but he\'s younger and honestly better than Foote right now.

I mean, people ripped Derian hatcher ALL YEAR, but in the playoffs he seemed to be a rock and shut guys down. Commodore can do that. 3.75 million isn\'t technically bad for what he brings :P

I love Mike. Partied with him in \'04. I just can\'t understand the price these guys are getting. He\'ll bring it for the Jackets but I really don\'t think he\'s a 3 million dollar guy.
