Default Shark Week is once again making things up - [ARTICLE]

Just read this short article and watched the below video. I didn't realize that discovery channel was sinking to such lows for views

Yeah I was watching something last night, only to find out that it was just for entertainment purposes. Said so before the show started after commercials, but I was fastforwarding.

I also saw some old shows from last year's lineup. Not impressed so far.

    I usually like Shark Week.

The irony is that Discovery and TLC used to have such honorable intentions, now they cater to the lowest common denominator

The "History" Channel is ridiculous too! With Ancient Aliens and all that other garbage they show on there they should be forced to change the name of their station.

The Military Channel is really going downhill now too. Discovery bought it and now is filling it with Bible garbage, Egyptology, Mafia reruns and yes, various "Aliens Destroyed Atlantis" fantasies. And they named it the American Heroes Channel which is some sort of jingoistic marketing ploy of some sort. Considering mummies and Mafiosi as "American Heroes" really requires one to have an open mind.

The documentary channel isn't bad - and Animal Planet still shows SOME interesting stuff.

Discovery Science seems to have taken the old Discovery Channel format somewhat.

The "Educational Channels" sold their souls so long ago it isn't even still news, and as much as we gripe, profits must be up for them (Duck Dynasty licensing etc.) or they wouldn't have gone down this road.

They're airing Sharknado this week as part of Shark Week. Trying to fill the week with as much "shark-related" stuff as possible.

To be fair, the Sharknado movies are great movies to laugh at - As modern-day "B Movies" they are quite entertaining.

Maybe they can show reruns of the Canadian show 'Shark Tank' while they are at it.

Haven't seen the Sharknado movies but I would like to see how they stack up against the "B" movie legends, Plan 9 From Outer Space and Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes. Movies that are so horrendously stupid they're destined to become unitentional comedy classics. Sharknado just seems to drip with that sort of potential.
