Taking a stab at this...although I don't know enough about a couple of the guys here.
Eric Gelinas
Josh Morrissey
Anthony DeAngelo
Hampus Lindholm
Shea Theodore
TJ Brodie
Julius Honka
Ville Pokka - unsure?
Nikita Zadorov
I have assembled a list of Dmen that I feel will be available to me in our annual points only keeper draft. I could grab 2 or maybe 3 with the picks I have assembled. Looking for highest upside players and rank them.
Josh Morrissey
Shea Theodore
Ville Pokka
Hampus Lindholm
Eric Gelinas
TJ Brodie
Nikita Zadorov
Julius Honka
Anthony DeAngelo

My 3 fav from that list are
Lindholm...best option here and now. Love the team he plays for and his opportunity there
Gelinas...see above re NHL ready with impressive skills... Don't so much like his team though... But if your multi cat... Better than points only
Theodore... I don't know exactly what it is... Or when he'll be fantasy relevant... But when he arrives... Something about his game excites me.
And then comes MR. Brodie.
Not much to say about the rest.
I'm going off of your OP very carefully here. Points only, highest upside. Not necessarily NHL ready, but pure offensive upside.
Josh Morrisey by a country mile in this group.
...
Anthony DeAngelo (as long as he gets his act together, this kid is as pure an offensive defenceman as they come)
...
Eric Gelinas
Julius Honka
Shea Theodore
TJ Brodie
Hampus Lindholm
Nikita Zadorov
Ville Pokka
Some interesting and varied responses, so keep them coming!
I should actually reveal my top three: Morrissey, Theodore, DeAngelo
No arguing DeAngleo's stats thus far but the attitude/baggage has me downgrading him a bit.
I love that top 3 though.
I guess my ranks are a bit weird because I didnt take into consideration time in which they'd become NHL'ers, but I did consider who was in front of them for ice time, but I love the offensive arsenal that Theodore brings.
Morrissey and DeAngelo I think have the ability to hop players on the depth charts in leaps and bounds, same with Honka. Gelinas already has so as long as he can hone his defensive game he'll stay in the lineup and produce more.
All in all, I could see Morrissey and DeAngelo popping off a few 60 point seasons in their careers. 50's from Gelinas, Honka and Theodore. High 40's from Brodie, low 40's from Lindholm. 30's for Zadorov and Pokka.
H.Lindholm
J.Morrissey
S.Theodore
