I would rather get Jose Ramirez somehow.....but I guess you can't really complain about Freeman for money.

Jays rotation looking good if they can stay healthy. The bullpen is still a question mark and could be what cripples this team again.

Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting

I hate that they always want to piece it together with guys who probably wouldn't even be in the Majors on other teams.

There are plenty of guys with proven success still available. For all we know Romano could fall off a cliff this year and then they're really screwed.

    Kenley
    Miller
    Rosenthal
    Givens
    Chafin!!!
    Petit
    Romo
    Clippard - bring him back

    Jays BP:
    Romano
    Mayza
    Garcia
    Phelps
    Merryweather
    Cimber
    Richards
    Pearson
    Stripling
    Hatch

It depends on their plan with Pearson, but getting Romano, Pearson, and Cimber as your 7, 8, 9th inning guys is a strong crew. Then Phelps and Richards were good when they played. I do think the BP needs 1 more arm, especially if they don't plan on Pearson being the 8th inning guy. Then they def need a setup guy.

It would be nice to see some consistency from any of them as far as their ability to stay healthy and trust they can deliver when handed the ball. Montoya has shown a tendency to go to the bullpen too early too often so while there's some "decent" options there, nothing screams confidence to me looking at those names.

Is today the day they sign Freeman? For me it would be a similar feeling to the day they traded for Price. Some questions marks for sure....but damn exciting as a life long fan.

To me Montoya's deployment causes me more concern than relying on some of those names lol.

Like if this is their BP going into the season, you are really hoping for Merryweather to be pre-injury self, Phelps to return to form from injury, and Cimber to continue to do well. Which is a lot of hopes and dreaming.

I do think we need that one more piece for now, but the good thing is they do have Stripling and Hatch for long relief, they do have Pearson/Stripling for SP pitching depth, and they do have a top closer out of no where. But ya, getting 1 more top arm, or 2 more 6th/7th inning guys is whats needed.

I hear ya there. If they can move Vladdy back to 3B, that would fill that hole (big hole IMO) and Freeman would be a stellar acquisition. I am not sure how much I trust Vladdy's glove at the hot corner but his bat is what it is. I am still not sold on Biggio as a full time 2B either. His bat is meh and his glove is mediocre. Decent utility guy but to be honest, it wouldn't break my heart to trade him for a better option at 2B.

I think the Jays infield is fine with Vlad at 3B and Biggio at 2nd with Espinal as an option off the bench for both. Vlad was put at 3B when he was relatively out of shape and he didn't take the MLB conditioning seriously. His arm is huge, and he showed a lot of positive defensive plays at 1B as he got more comfortable. So hopefully he can do the same at 3B.

Biggio at 2B is fine defensively, but nothing amazing. It really depends who his 1B is and if Bo takes a step forward again. Freeman is a gold glove 1B, Bo worked with Tulo in the offseason. Together as a unit I think you can make it work for a good infield.

Biggio's bat is low average, high OBP kind of bat. AKA, 9th in the order setting up Springer. I'm fine with it. If Biggio is moved, I also wouldn't care outside of I have a signed Biggio jersey lol. As long as Pearson isn't involved too because I have his as well lol.

Boston has entered the Freeman sweepstakes. Prolly just a way to see if they can block the Yankees, Rays or Jays from getting Freeman. I don't know how serious they would be, but who knows right.

Yankees continue to talk to Rizzo under the continuing belief top choice Freeman is still not a likelihood.

MLB radio is saying that they don't see the Rays as a legit option with their payroll, Yankees seem to be moving towards Rizzo as the 1B option, and BSox don't make much sense. Looking like a Dodgers vs Jays race here.

Freeman at 3rd base is an option as well if Vladdy is not up for it.

He played there for the Braves a few years back and didn't do that bad.

But he is getting older... so not sure if Vlad or Freeman is the better 3rd base option.

    1B/3b/DH - Freeman/Vlad
    2B - Biggio
    SS - Bichette
    3B - Vlad/Freeman
    IF Utility - Espinal
    Of/DH:
    Hernandez, Grichuk, Gurriel Jr., Springer

    I can live with that.
Not sure I prefer designated positions or a random platoon. If you have above average defenders designated positions is great but the all-out platoon gives you lots of shift lineup options for off-days and injuries.
