Ppl saying Matz pitched a great game, the result was good but man I was holding my breath on a lot of those flyballs to the OF.

I got the duct tape. Lets GOOOOOOO.

One thing I just noticed looking at the standings. Run Differential: Yankees +39, Red Sox +52, Jays + 140.
Need to play like they have and hold the close ones down the stretch.

I can get on board with those people if they add in the caveat that he battled hard without his best stuff.

He got lucky on a ton of those pitches where they didn't hit the mark. Ya he "Battled" but if some of those go 10ft more, then does he still get that "battled" moniker? Nah he's then pointed at having a bad day. I guess I'm starting to go down a rabbit hole of "coulda woulda shoulda"

Wins a win, especially when it's your worst pitcher vs the AL Cy Young leader.

I agree. I think Judge hit 4 balls to deep RF in last night's game that all were caught between 20-2Ft of the wall, but all were caught sooooo great outing by Matz. Given a choice you would not pick "deep flies to RF in Yankee Stadium" as an option for an out, but after they are caught you get excited. If he misses or Judge connects a fraction more we're talking about an L.
Take the W and keep on moving on up.

This went both ways. Jays had several deep fly-outs as well Semien to centre being one.

Ball luck is on their side right now. one hopes it sticks around a couple more weeks.

Man they should be up at least by 6 but a lead is a lead. Go Jays.

Will it be Baltimore that tempers our expectations of this team?

Last night, the Jays had 7 batters with a batting average of .267 or better. The Yankees had 1.

It would be nice if every team eventually builds stadiums with some kind of enclosure to prevent rain outs. You know. Like the Roger's Centre.

It's even more embarrassing because Yankees Stadium is new and the SkyDome is from the 80s

Same as in hockey. They need a bigger ice surface. They missed the boat in the 90's-00's when new rinks were being built. Not Olympic size but something better to accomodate the size, speed and extra referee.

Sweeps are good, sweeps of the damn Yankees are great. My significant other is an unhappy Yankees fan.
