You Bet, Bomm! I Mother Earth is one of those bands that I never thought about a lot. One of my friends was really into them, and one night at his place, he had the Album Scenery and Fish playing in the background. I remember I kept saying to myself "Hey, I know that song." over and over. After that, I saw them once in concert, and that was a game-changer for me. They quietly became one of my favourites, with So Gently We Go topping the list. That is one of the things I love about people posting these lists; it keeps reminding people of forgotten favourites!

    The Trooper - Iron Maiden
If You Want Blood - AC/DC
When the Levee Breaks - Led Zeppelin (could have listed them all)
Johnny B Good - Chuck Berry
    Surrender - Cheap Trick
    Paul Revere - Beastie Boys
Tom Sawyer - Rush (for the boys up north)
There's Only One Way to Rock - Sammy Hagar
    Unchained - Van Halen
Disposable Heroes - Metallica (start strong end strong...leave them wanting more)

Edit: rearranged to how I would listen to them. Missed that part.
For my own tastes, this one was the best one yet. Nice job! Just finished listening to it.

I'll take a swing at this. Some might argue that I missed the rock premise by going so blues heavy, but I think they blur the line between rock and blues enough to qualify.

    Burning Hell - Joe Bonamassa
99 Shades of Crazy - JJ Grey & Mofro
Heart On My Sleeve - The Band Of Heathens
Dad's Gonna Kill Me - Richard Thompson
Midnight Rider - Allman Brothers Band
Little Wing - Stevie Ray Vaughan
Four Walls of Raiford - Lynyrd Skynyrd
    Numb - Gary Clark Jr
Slow Ride - Kenny Wayne Sheppard
    Home - Marc Broussard

I might throw together a hard rock/metal based list here after while.

LOL! Thanks bud. I grew up in the 80s so while there's no doubt the main bands most on here chose for their play lists are great bands, I have heard them so much over the years they do get tiring for me to the point where they are no longer on my "ultimate" list.

I have seen both The Stanfields and The Trews live many times (both bands are from Nova Scotia) and put on great live shows and are really good bands.

I've just recently found Frank Turner and really becoming a fan of his current stuff.

NWO, love that Gary Clark tune. I happened to catch him live, in studio on VH-1 Classic. Very much like his style.

Ok, after much ado, this is my top ten rock-and-roll list. Trying to shy away from the metal-based sub-genre, but I can't help the blues influence....unavoidable really.

Since I've Been Lovin' You - Led Zeppelin (this will be atop any list...even top ten country infused disco tunes )
Bitch - Rolling Stones (I just love the flow of this tune and the horn section)
Eruption/You Really Got Me - Van Halen
Grown So Ugly - Black Keys
It Serves You Right To Suffer - John Lee Hooker
Let There Be Rock - AC/DC (C'mon it's like Chuck Berry on a roid bender)
What I'd Say - Ray Charles
    Wolf Teeth - JD McPherson
    Hey Joe - Jimi Hendrix
    I'm A Man - Spencer Davis Group

    That's my final final final....

Just to annoy you, you're only allowed one song per artist (double Led Zeppelin).

    Hey Axeman,

I ended up listening to a full Trews album at work yesterday and really quite enjoyed it. Knew a few more songs on it than I thought I would. Grooveshark is awesome.

I also listened to a Stanfields album last night while working out and quite liked it. Two good suggestions that I had passed over before, thanks!

My pleasure. The Trews have a few solid albums and songs. The Stanfields only have 2 albums out and the 1st one (Vanguard of the Young and Reckless) was pretty good but I like their last album much better (Death and Taxes).

Death and Taxes wasn't fully there on Grooveshark (at leats not with a quick search) but their first one was. I'll have to keep an eye out for the other one and give it a listen.

Took the time to make my best top-10 playlist.
Listen to it, rearranged it, tuned it.
Can't believe there's no Airbourne in any list...
Great young group with an old style look/sound.
They will be in Northe America in October. Be sure I will be at their show in Montreal!
So, there's MY ultimate rock playlist:
    --
    1- Airbourne - Blond, Bad and Beautiful - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ku2YavtBEww
2- AC/DC - Thunderstruck (my all time favorite song)
    3- Metallica - Enter Sandman
4- Aerosmith - Livin' on the Edge
5- Guns N' Roses - Welcome to the Jungle (could be Paradise City too)
6- The Presidents of the United States of America - Mach 5
7- Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar on Me
    8- Rammstein - Du Hast
9- Bon Jovi - You Give Love a Bad Name
10- Europe - The Final Countdown (way to end a playlist...!)
Keeper league (12 teams) - keep 6 (+ NHL team is auto keep)
    Weekly lineup: 1T, 9F, 4D, 1G
    Points only:
    Forwards & Dmen: goal (1), assist (1)
    Goalies: win (2), otl/sol (1), shutout (2)
    Team: win (2), otl/sol (1)
Only 2 FA pickups for the season (remaining: 0)

Not sure these mesh all that well, but damnit I've got eclectic taste and this is what I'd want to listen to:

    Space Oddity – David Bowie
Wish you were here – Pink Floyd
    Sweet Leaf – Black Sabbath
    Aqualung – Jethro Tull
Dead leaves and dirty ground – White Stripes
When the levee breaks – Led Zeppelin
    Bobcaygeon – Tragically Hip
Don’t let me down – The Beatles
    All apologies - Nirvana
    Baba O’Riley – The Who

This is a better late than never attempt, but there are some great lists on here so I figured I'd share mine.

Have to start off with the one I have first as its guaranteed to get the whole thing going:

Gimme Some Lovin' - Spencer Davis Group
    One Vision - Queen
Cum on Feel the Noise - Quiet Riot
    Black Betty - Ram Jam
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap - AC/DC
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynard
    Don't Stop Believin' - Journey
    Gel - Collective Soul
    Good Times - Finger Eleven
It's All Over - The Headstones

As people have said you could re-write this so many times and different ways. These aren't necessarily my favourite songs by each group (although they're up there), but the ones I would put together.

Enjoy (not in the car as it may lead to speeding tickets - especially the first track)
    [SIZE=1]WHL - World Hockey League (24-Team Daily H2H)
    Weighted Scoring: G(1),A(1),PPP(0.5),+/-(0.5), SOG/PIM/HIT/BLK(all 0.05), FOW-C(0.01)
