If Oduya is moved (wildly speculated), Leddy would move up to the 2nd D line pairings. With his continued presence on the 2nd PP line and the increased minutes, I can see Leddy hitting 40 points this season.

Isn't Leddy also rumored to be on the move? Or is one or the other?

I'm a little surprised by this actually. Nothing about Leddy has ever impressed me enough to think he could hit 40, especially on PP2. His game is fine but nothing outstanding IMO. The best thing about him is the guys he has finishing the plays.

I understand but the title to this thread is who can crack 40 pts next. Leddy has scored 37 pts (22-min per), 31 pt-pace (17-min per), and 31 pts (16-min per) in the last 3 seasons while on the 3rd line pairing. He had the partners of Rozsival, Brookbank, and Kotska as his partners the last couple seasons. When you look back to year that he had 37 pts his main d partners were Hjalmarlsson, Keith, Oduya, and Seabrook. SO, if Oduya is trade and Leddy's minutes go back up to over 20 and he is playing with a better D partner, I easily see 35 pts and 40 with a little luck. The guy has GREAT wheels and is really good carrying the puck. He has good hands and has made enough "wow" plays to show you that he has the ability. And like you said, he has good talent surrounding him to finish plays.

If Oduya is not traded and Leddy stays on the 3rd D pairing then I would be very surprised to see him reach 40 pts. And actually I wish the Hawks would trade Leddy and keep Oduya for this season. However, all the rumors are pointing towards Oduya getting trading. Regardless, both are gone in 2014-15.

Interesting that his minutes have decreased over the past three years...

I can definitely see your argument on how he could get there. I suppose either way he qualifies as a decent buy low because whether he gets moved or Oduya gets moved, he's going to see an upswing in TOI which should benefit him.

I don't see enough Hawks games to catch the "wow" plays so I'll have to take your word on that one. Maybe I'll drop a line to his owner tonight and see how if I can get him cheap enough for my liking

LOL- I own him in a league and have been trying to trade him. Granted, the league has hits, blocks, and PIMs where he is useless but if it was a points only league....

You'd think as a D man he could muster more than 45 blocks. I could get that by accident if I played D

For $4M Jake Gardiner better crack 40 points this season. I'm emboldened by Dobber's projection for 13 goals, 47 points, 100 blks, 100 hits.

Well he played the last 21 games of the season at a 54 point pace...

And basically played half the season at a 40 point pace from January 1st onwards.

I'm pretty sure dobber pegged del zotto for 47 pts in 2013-14 in last years guide so I wouldn't get too emboldened if I were you..

Great call. Spurgeon has been inching up in terms of point contribution, and with a nicely stacked top 6 forward group and Suter as his D PP partner, I can easily see him finally cracking 40 pts. 14 pts in his last 24 reg season games last year, and 6 in 13 in the playoffs. Only issue is whether he has a healthy season.

47 points for Gardiner? that would be surprising.

Does he still play on the 2nd PP this year?

Zach Bogosian will work his way back to fantasy relevance this season. While everyone is super high on Trouba and super low on Bogo, wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Bogo outscore Trouba this upcoming season.
