Great move...van doesn\'t have a ton of options and any chances they take is a good one. Wellwood has shown flashes of talent and maybe his buyout will wake him up....this kid has shown the ability to put up points and anything that has points is welcome in vancouver at this point in time!!!! We can get picky later, when we have scoring ability.

I dont know if it hurts Shannon or not. I think it all has to do with what Vancouver does down the road (do they get Naslund back? do they sign other UFA\'s?). Like people have said so far, Wellwood has to prove himself because his last 2 years were crap. They might bring Wellwood slowly along and that might give Shannon time in the beginning to prove himself. I have Shannon in my pool as well and to be honest, the addition of Wellwood doest worry me about Shannon\'s future. But we will see if Dobber says anything about it.

I can\'t believe any of you think this is good for Vancouver, there are probably 6 or 7 guys better then Wellwood playing in Manitoba for the Moose, this isn\'t a great signing at all. Playing against Calgary and Edmonton that many times will kill this kid.
