Its still going to be around for a while, just not that important anymore. Hard to hold a roster spot for someone who plays under 4 min a game.
You need tough guys to be able to skate and handle the puck now.

It'll start at this level and eventually end up in the NHL. I really do think fighting is going to go the way of helmets and visors. Player safety will eventually overcome old school mentalities.
