IF Italy wins the group they would play second place of Colombia/Greece/Cote D'Ivoire/Japan

I am assuming Colombia wins the group. So I would think Italy wants to play anyone but Colombia in that group. My bet is on Ivory Coast to make it.

So I am also assuming Holland finishes first in the group, playing Mexico in the next round.

Now Mexico looks good, but I believe we could beat them. So there is a very real possibility we play Italy then.

    That's gonna be awesome.

on a side note. I hope Costa Rica makes it out of your group. Love the underdog team

    Italy vs Costa Rica
this two teams have a great start, they both wins at their 1st matches. Italy will be wary of costa rica forward Joel Campbell,
the 21 years old who scored one goal and set up another against Uruguay. Costa Rica also got off to an excellent start roaring back from a goal down to beat
Uruguay 3-1. I predict that Italy can win this match and they can beat Costa Rica with a score of 2-0.

    France vs Switzerland
Switzerland had a "photo-finish" against Ecuador as it scored the winning goald at 93 minutes.
France had won against Honduras with a final score of 3-0. the long time opponents played 36 times against each other.
Switzerland won 12, France 15 while the other 9 ended in a draw. My bet is on France i predict they beat Switzerland
with a final score of 3-1.

    Ecuador vs Honduras
Honduras had a tough opposition in its first match. france had an easy win against a team that became a 10-man squad after wilson palacios had been sent off.
while equador played quite well against a team which is considered to be one the finest in the tournament.this is going to be a highly competitive game
as honduras will probably not change its aggressive nature of playing. My bet is on Ecuador i predict they beat honduras with a final score of 1-0.

Here's a handy reference for Canadian hockey fans who want to know what it's like to be an England fan:

    World Cup = Olympic Hockey
    England = Canada
    Every year = Turin

Hahaha, very true. Add in being a leaf fan too and it is painful. Both teams haven't won anything in almost 50 years and both teams are always over-hyped and then proceed to disappoint/choke.

If Italy beats Costa Rica and Uruguay (which could happen) and England beats Costa Rica handily - then they still have a chance.

But yeah, it's pathetic having to rely on that mathematical equation just to qualify to the round of 16.

keep in mind Molson, that western Europe teams typically don't do too well in south America world cups. and vice versa.

I can't see costa rica not making the next round honestly. They looked decent.

Hopefully they beat Italy this am.

As an England supporter it seems unbelievable that we could be finished off by Italy going down in a dramatic (but wholly inexplicable) fashion... it's just so out of character for them!

Balotelli is an embarrassment. Looks like he gets shot everytime someone barely touches him
