Really? Wow. I still don\'t understand how can you play with a team against a rival like montreal for YEARS and then desire to play for them...

Maybe he\'s developed a level of respect for the organization or something, but I still think that if he goes to MTL, he\'ll be hated by Leaf\'s fans... anywhere else he were to go, they\'d root for him to win a cup...

I still don\'t believe the Montreal rumours.

Detroit makes the most sense by far to me, for many reasons:

1. They are about $14.5M under the cap with 19 players already signed, and their defense is already stacked.
2. About half of his countrymen play there already.
3. It\'s not all that far away, and I think he\'s expressed an interest in staying near Toronto (which started the weak Ottawa rumours, and stronger Montreal ones).
4. They have basically the same roster they won with, so adding him would make them his best shot at that elusive championship.
5. I think he really does respect Toronto fans, and they won\'t resent or hate him if he goes to Detroit.
6. Despite his age and Det being in the West, Sundin could have a career year due to the incredible PP he\'d play on, and the fact that he\'d be facing the opposition\'s second defensive pairing as long as Zetterberg and Datsyuk are healthy. Not to mention the amount of space he\'d have thanks to Holmstrom\'s net presence.

About the only reason I can see him going anywhere else is if he\'s too pansy to deal with the travel schedule in the West. My prediction is he signs with Detroit, and they repeat as Cup champs.
