Giroux for Hall+

I am entertaining the thought of acquiring Hall from his owner, we haven't talked about a trade yet but I really like Halls upside.

A possible trade would be Giroux for Hall and Pacioretty

I am very strong at center but I am weak at the wings.

he also has Wayne Simmonds

Do you guys think this is a move up or just a lateral movement?

I am also a little worried about Hall being a BAB so let me know what you guys think.

in a limited keeper hell no. at the end of the year, pacioretty maybe sneaks in as your 8th keeper. the difference between him and lets say sedin/voracek is a lot smaller than the difference between giroux and hall, especially when you factor in injuries.

do not ever trade malkin, giroux, stamkos, or price unless you are getting crosby back. you have arguably the best keepers without even knowing what the other teams look like, keep it that way.

Disagree! I'd take Hall and Patches! Giroux is elite... Yes...not quite top 5 as originally projected but top 10 likely. IMO Hall will join that elite level status...and patches is just the + to make me jump. But Hall excited me...If your scared of the Oilers...don't make this move.

I'm inclined to agree. Unless you really don't like Voracek or Sedin and want Pac instead, this deal doesn't make a lot of sense.
That being said, if you think Hall will outproduce Giroux, then go for it, but don't put too much weight into the Pacioretty part.

I don't think I would go for this type of upgrade. Number #1 rule for me is that the team trading the best player in the deal usually loses the trade. The fact that Hall and MaxPax have a history of nagging injuries further keeps me from recommending such a deal.

yeah its a hard one to justifiy I guess, Sedin and Maxpac might be very close in stats next year. if I do this trade then I have to drop one of nyquist/Voracek/sedin.

Voracek and sedin are my keepers out of the 3 right now.

Hall and Giroux are pretty close without FOW invovlved. You have to give the edge to Giroux based on track record and Hall's injury history. Like axeman said, I'd make the deal if Patches was a clear keeper upgrade, but he's not. Try to rework it.

If you can keep both patches and hall then I would likely do it though it depends who else would be available to keep aside Giroux. You really need to look at this as Giroux + best available FA or best player you can keep from your squad vs Patches and Hall. That is really the key here. If you can keep Giroux + Vanek or Gabby I'd take that side in a heart beat if what you can keep with Giroux is more of a Horton or Hemsky type then I'd take the deal.

I view Hall and Giroux as pretty damn close to one another, basically neck and neck. And Pacioretty >>>>>>>>> Voracek, especially since you count Hits.
