Who would come your way ? Giguere, I believe ?

If you think you can win it all this year and need to get stronger in the crease, than Giguere is the choice.

If this is not the case, then Price is gold. I feel he\'ll really be in the show in 2008-2009, and be the face of the Habs.

That being said, if you\'re the one getting Giguere, I think you should ask for a little extra in return, let\'s say a strong draft pick, or a prospect. Price is way younger, and letting him go for Giguere straight up would be an overpayment. The thing is Giguere\'s value can\'t be higher than it is now, while Price\'s star can only rise from now on.

I would. Anaheim and Giggy will be getting lots of points for a long while. Price wont be seeing regular ice time for at least 2-3years. I guess it comes down to WHEN you want to win. Personally I would rather have Giggy, an allstar talent on arguably the best team in the NHL, who is a proven guy playing now, then a prospect who looks really good but is years away.

If you are receiving Price, I think it depends most of all on your situation and the rest of your roster. I agree with Celly, giguere will give you decent numbers for the next 2-3 years while Price probably won\'t be very productive until 2-3 years. Can you afford to lose Giguere\'s production?

Even if you are rebuilding, unless your pool is extremely deep, you should be able to become competitive through alternative means before Price/Habs start churning out all-star stats.

If you are receiving Giguere and you have even a halfway decent core of players, I would say go for it.

Yes, I had Price and wanted Giguere.
Our league is a keeper league and I
needed help in goaltending so I did the trade.
Short term gain for long term pain. :P

Im from hamilton and got to see price play all calder cup playoffs. This guy is something special, he was stopping roughly 35-40 shots a game. His composure in the playoffs at a young age, just joining a new team is amazing. I red in our local sports section how his D-men loved the way he played the puck chipping it past the forcheckers. The coaches also compared his puck playing abilities to the 2 Marty\'s, Broduer and Turco, 2 of the best in the game. If you have a decent goalie now that can start for another year until price gets his chance when Huets contract is done, id keep price.

    Yeah. Big Brother is watching.
I pity the CIA agent who follows my internet activity. I can just hear him going crazy in his underground cubicle: “What!?!? You’re going to the Dobber forum again? You were just there 20 minutes ago!”

I didn\'t have another goaltender that I could sit on unfortunately, needed a starter bad. Trust me, Price was very hard to give up!

Also did a trade, got Harding (MIN), gave up Roloson and Prucha...considering I was able to get rid of Rolo...small price for Prucha...no???

Well getting rid of Roloson was a plus but Prucha might come back to bite you. Really depends what line he ends up on in New York.
