Hi Guys,
I'm in the 1st year of a points only keeper pool. Forward and defencemen get 1 pt for goals and assists. Goalies get 2 points for a win and 3 points for a shutout.
I am allowed to keep 6 players on my farm team, but need to drop one to move Nathan Mackinnon to my 6th spot so I can keep him for future years and I protect my other 12 regular keepers for future seasons.
My 5 farm players right now I am keeping are:
Nathan Mackinnon F COL
Jonathan Drouin F TB
Aleksander Barkov F FLA
Teuvo Teravainen F CHI
John Gibson G ANA
& 1 of
Robin Lehner G OTT OR
Morgan Rielly D TOR
Who should I keep Lehner future #1 goalie in Ottawa soon or Reilly potential stud d-men for many years to come especially in points only format.
Thanks for your feedback ASAP as I have to drop one by this weekend.
MacKinnon
Drouin
Barkov
Gibson

Who are your 12 main roster keepers? It might be worthwhile to put Mackinnon on the regular roster as you have 7 pretty good prospects here. I'd prefer Lehner over Reilly but potential 50+ point Dmen don't grow on trees so if probably drop Teravainen of all the players listed. His ceiling is the lowest of the forwards and he's more easil replaceable than a Potentual stud goalie or Dman.

I suggest to plug in both Lehner and Rielly ( Both in NHL now and soon-to-be studs. I'd pull out Teuvo as you have a ton of forwards to keep in that group that are ahead of Teuvo.
Just added full team to my signature. Thanks for your thoughts.

I think you've made the right moves, as your sig sums up what advice others have been providing and what I would be looking at doing as well. You look well positioned for next season.

I agree with others, TT is the drop here.
Thanks so much you guys.
Anybody else with feedback care to drop a line much appreciated.
How many points will TT get in Chicago next year?.......... 50 points reasonable guess? I have read a few reports that he is a special kid.

The Hockey News 'Future Watch' issue ranked Teravainen the #3 prospect in the world, ahead of Kuznetsov, Strome and Forsberg, and behind only Drouin and John Gibson. Do you guys disagree with their assessment, or do you think maybe they're saying he's a great defensive-forward prospect or something?

Well, MacK is probably not a prospect in their eyes... Nor Barkov/Lehner. So Gibson and Drouin are ahead of him. That accounts for everyone on the list other than Rielly. An offensive defensemen is more valuable in fantasy than as a real prospect, so that is why they suggest keeping him. So, the rankings here are in fact consistent with Hockey News.
