The giant-in-the-tunnel battle is also not given a full account in the book. Perhaps the producers were simply staying true to the text on that one. Saves them going stupidly overbudget with CGI (not that it looked like they skimped).

Yea, my sister was commenting that the budget for that episode must have been insane because the size of set and amount of CGI needed for the whole thing.

It was the most expensive episode they have made to date.

so glad there wasn't any head exploding scenes in this episode. i'm still recovering from last week's.

i guess that's the last of her accent we'll be hearing...

THat was a pretty good episode. Lots of action and killing. I liked how they did the whole scenes with the giants. Such an amazing show.

Ya, longest episode they've aired so far. But gah! How can it already be the season finale?? They need to go to 20 episode seasons, it is known.

There's a lot left to explain - it'll be interesting to see how they cram the rest of the book into 66 minutes.

Either way - the hype around this season finale is insane. The producers and writers have openly claimed that it is by far the greatest episode so far in the series, and they're concerned about whether they'll ever be able to top it lol.

Needless to say... expectations are high.

Ya this season really came around....outside of Joffrey's dying there wasn't a whole lot going on through the first half of the season. And now the last few episodes have just been incredible.

I don't think the intention is to finish out the book with this episode. All the Reek stuff is from book 5, so it's been interesting to see how things shape up. Sorry guys, I know you hate book talk...

Ya I expect them to wrap up the "big stuff" from the third book and really move onto the 4th/5th book next season but I'm sure there will still be some third book stuff lingering into next season.
