Every year in the playoffs I pick one of my start golies (in this case Niemi) and add their back up for the fantasy post season. My rationale is that once this team grabs a guaranteed playoff spot the coach will rest his starter. Which can be a significant issue if you are in desperate need of a start. Of course this will cost me a roster spot so there is a trade off.
Interested in your thoughts on backup tenders, do you use them?
I once traded Henrik Lundqvist and Ilya Kovalchuk in return for Peter Budaj and Henrik Zetterberg… have lived in shame ever since.
