We added BLK to our cap league this year. It has been well received. Here are a few suggestions:
J. Braun (SJS) 1 year at $1,250,000
T. Hickey (NYI) 1 year at $675,000
N. Guenin (COL) 2 years at $800,000
The cap league in my sig (ECFL) is possibly adding blocked shots next year. We may take out SHP or combine PPG and PPA.
I just made a trade and have a slot open to add a defensemen.
Which defenseman should I add to take advantage of this possible move? I'm out of the running this year, and the trade deadline has passed.
The player has to be fringe enough that he isn't owned in my league, has a contract that extends to at least next year, and have a relatively cheap cap hit. He doesn't have to be doing much this year, just has to be on an NHL roster right now. (Though prospect suggestions to look at would be useful too).
It is an interesting exercise, projecting blocked shots next year means looking at who will be terrible next year. Teams without the luck block more shots (and hit more), but their plus/minus is terrible. At 2 cats to 1, I can deal with that.
Smid has a high cap hit, Tanev doesn't do anything else, etc.
Any ideas?

Brendan Dillon is solid, but hes coming off his ELC at seasons end so beware of a raise.
Ben Lovejoy is another decent option at just over 1M

Kris Russell makes $1.5M, but will move up to $2.6M next year.

If you're willing to roll the dice on his next salary, Andrew Macdonald is the guy you want here, hands down. Chris Butler is another guy similar to Krish Russell with lots of blocks and similar salary.

I currently don't have much room at forward, but if that player is somehow now worth buying out Hagelin or Gagne for... I could do that.

Guys like Gudas, Emelin, and even Mike Weber are pretty useful in a league counting hits and blocks.. all have a decent salary
Even look for a guy like de Haan whos only played 40 games this year, but has very comparable stats
For me, they basically have to have more than 92 games played, or they are likely to be on someone's junior roster.
Guenin, Russell and Butler are available.
Braun, Dillon, Lovejoy, MacDonald, Emelin and Weber are all owned.
I decided to pick up Hickey, but I could pick up another if he is going to be more valuable than Alec Martinez (who I also just picked up).
